Description
Kindthread is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Senior Demand Planner-Wholesale to lead our wholesale demand forecasting and planning function. This role will drive the development of accurate, bottom-up SKU-level forecasts, aligning channel plans with company financial goals, and supported by strong cross-functional collaboration.
This position will play a pivotal role in transforming historical sales trends, market insights, and business intelligence into actionable demand strategies. In addition to guiding seasonal and long-range planning, the Senior Demand Planner will partner closely with Wholesale Sales, Product Development, and Supply Planning teams to support new product introductions, optimize assortments, and improve forecasting accuracy.
Requirements
- Lead End-to-End Wholesale Demand Planning: Own the full-cycle demand planning process for the wholesale channel, with a focus on bottoms-up, SKU-level planning and alignment to company goals.
- Build & Manage Channel Forecasts: Develop and maintain detailed, channel-specific demand forecasts that support revenue targets, inventory health, and strategic growth objectives.
- Deliver Insightful Analysis: Conduct post-season hindsight reviews and in-season performance analyses to inform planning strategies and identify opportunities or risks.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Wholesale Sales to integrate qualitative inputs and customer-level insights into demand forecasts. Align closely with Product Development to plan for new product launches and manage product lifecycle strategies.
- Drive SKU Rationalization: Identify over- and under-performing products and make strategic recommendations to optimize the assortment and improve margin contribution.
- Mentor & Lead: Provide day-to-day support, coaching, and professional development for one Demand Planner, while actively contributing to team deliverables and strategy.
- Enhance Tools & Processes: Contribute to ongoing improvements in planning tools, data models, and forecasting methodologies to increase efficiency and accuracy across the function.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 5–8 years of experience in demand planning, merchandise planning, or wholesale operations, preferably within the apparel or consumer goods industry
- Strong analytical mindset with expertise in Excel and demand planning software/tools
- Experience creating and managing forecasts at the SKU level
- Skilled in synthesizing quantitative and qualitative data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; adept at building relationships across teams
- Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional collaboration and support business-critical decisions

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Merchandising, Finance, or a related field
$87,000-$96,000 annual salary. Kindthread encourages applications from candidates of all levels where pay will be based on experience.
