Overview
Job Description: The Cloud Engineer 3 is responsible for contributing to cloud products and system design working with engineering teams to solve complex problems lead innovative projects and evangelize cloud engineering excellence across the organization. This position is experienced in one or more cloud-related engineering fields actively working to mature cloud engineering practices across the company.
Responsibilities:
- Write code to solve complex problems; complete logic algorithms and system design in alignment with established standards
- Partner with teams from across the organization to solve complex software problems in the cloud
- Identify and participate in new cloud technology research proof of concepts (POCs) and innovation efforts across the department
- Design and drive the implementation of continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to cloud environments with a focus on quality security and automation
- Define and document best practices regarding application deployment and operational procedures
- Participates in the adoption of new cloud technologies and operations processes across departments
- Establishes engineering standards procedures and best practices related to operational efficiency security performance reliability deliverability quality and cost optimization
- Act as an escalation point and for complex production issues code issues and low-level customer requests for assistance (RFAs)
- Promote and lead team level initiatives
- Mentor coach train and provide feedback to other team members; may provide feedback to leadership on technical abilities of team
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in software development cloud engineering or a related technical engineering field
- Demonstrated experience in at least one cloud-related engineering field
- Experience building and delivering enterprise applications
- Experience supporting cloud software that is in production and used by customers
- Experience working with one or more public cloud providers
- Experience implementing and working with continuous integration/continuous delivery
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and related systems
- Experience with infrastructure as code deployments
- Strong oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with an executive presence
- Strong collaboration skills applied successfully within team as well as with all levels of employees in other areas
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage projects to completion independently
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Sharp fast learner with technology curiosity and a proven track record of continuous improvement
- Demonstrated knowledge of cloud-native design principles
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with building systems that meet stringent quality security and compliance standards
- General knowledge of a general purpose programming languages
- Up to 10% travel time required
