Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Associate at arenaflex, you will be entrusted with a variety of important duties that keep our stores running smoothly and our customers satisfied. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Customer Engagement: Greet every customer with warmth and enthusiasm, making them feel welcome the moment they enter our store. Build rapport by offering assistance, answering questions, and providing product recommendations that enhance their shopping experience.
  • Point-of-Sale Operations: Operate cash registers with accuracy and efficiency, processing all customer transactions including purchases, returns, exchanges, refunds, and rain checks. Ensure proper handling of cash, credit cards, and digital payments while maintaining security protocols.
  • Problem Resolution: Address customer concerns and complaints professionally and promptly, working to resolve issues to their complete satisfaction. Serve as a reliable resource for customer questions and provide accurate information about products, services, and store policies.
  • Sales Generation: Identify opportunities to recommend complementary products, trade-up items, and promotional merchandise to increase customer satisfaction and store sales. Utilize suggestive selling techniques while respecting customer preferences.
  • Store Merchandising: Keep all store counters, shelves, and displays clean, well-organized, and properly merchandised. Participate in setting up promotional displays, seasonal decorations, and sale merchandise to create an inviting shopping atmosphere.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with inventory counts, price checks, and stock rotation using the first-in, first-out (FIFO) method to minimize waste and ensure product freshness. Report low stock levels and communicate with management about inventory needs.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to all company policies and procedures, including compliance with state and local regulations regarding restricted products. Maintain a safe and secure environment for both customers and team members.
  • Photo Services: Provide exceptional service in the photo department, including digital passport photo services, poster printing, and creative machine operations. Assist customers with photo-related inquiries and orders.
  • Online Order Fulfillment: Take responsibility for web pick-up orders, including monitoring incoming orders in our system, picking items accurately, and delivering orders to customers as they arrive at the store.
  • Store Maintenance: Assist with both exterior and interior maintenance to ensure our store always looks clean, neat, and professionally maintained. Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly.
  • Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively with fellow team members, share customer service best practices, and contribute to a positive, supportive work environment. Maintain respectful relationships with all coworkers.
  • Additional Assignments: Complete special projects and other tasks as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to take on new challenges.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Language Proficiency: Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Note: Bilingual skills are always valued and may be considered a plus in certain locations.)
  • Availability: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Retail environments require adaptability to changing business needs and peak shopping periods.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications and experiences are highly preferred and will strengthen your application:

  • Six months or more of previous experience in a retail, customer service, or hospitality environment
  • Prior work experience in a customer-facing role within a pharmacy, grocery, or general merchandise retail setting
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash register operations
  • Previous experience with inventory management, merchandising, or store operations
  • Basic knowledge of product categories and ability to make relevant recommendations to customers
  • Experience in photo services or digital printing operations
  • Prior experience with online order fulfillment or click-and-collect services
