Position Overview

As a Certified Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at arenaflex, you will play a vital role in ensuring that every customer receives the highest level of service while supporting our pharmacy operations. This position requires a unique blend of customer service excellence, attention to detail, and a commitment to healthcare quality. You will be responsible for registering sales, processing prescriptions, and providing assistance to our pharmacy team under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists. Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience Excellence

  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them warmly and offering prompt assistance with products and services. Your friendly demeanor and willingness to help will create lasting positive impressions.
  • Resolve customer issues and answer questions skillfully to ensure a seamless and positive customer experience. Listen actively to understand concerns and provide effective solutions.
  • Model and share exceptional customer service best practices with all team members, demonstrating interpersonal habits such as greeting customers with a smile, maintaining eye contact, and showing courtesy at all times.
  • Embody arenaflex service traits, including offering help proactively, identifying customer needs, and servicing customers until they are completely satisfied.

Pharmacy Operations Support

  • Provide customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service at the register and throughout the pharmacy area.
  • Recommend items for sale to customers and suggest trade-up and/or companion items to enhance their shopping experience.
  • Register customer purchases on assigned cash registers, collect cash, and distribute change accurately; process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed.
  • Guide customers to the over-the-counter (OTC) aisle when possible to assist them in locating products they need.
  • Keep pharmacy counters and shelves clean, well-merchandised, and organized. Take regular inventory and maintain accurate records.
  • Check in and price merchandise as required or as directed by the Pharmacy Manager or communicated by shift leaders.
  • Perform duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information accurately.
  • Ensure information is entered correctly into the pharmacy system and fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs accurately.
  • Verify that medicine is correct and check for possible drug interactions before dispensing.
  • Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining efficient workflow within the pharmacy department.
  • Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately and adhere to Company policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
  • Review and comply with the arenaflex Pharmacy Code of Conduct at all times.
  • Strictly adhere to the arenaflex policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all applicable prescription dispensing activities.
  • Handle telephone calls that do not require the personal attention of the pharmacist, including calls to physicians, with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Process corrected and resubmitted manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform other clerical duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager to support smooth operations.

Inventory Management and Asset Protection

  • Assist and support the Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
  • Maintain knowledge of arenaflex asset protection techniques and procedures.
  • File claims for warehouse overages (merchandise received but not billed), shortages (merchandise billed but not received), order errors, or damaged goods involving prescription drugs.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products, including alcoholic beverages and tobacco products.

Store Operations and Merchandising

  • Construct and maintain attractive displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise displays.
  • Complete resets and revisions as directed by management to keep the store fresh and engaging.
  • Assist with the separation of food items (e.g., raw foods from pre-cooked) and product placement as specified by policies and procedures.
  • For consumable items, assist in stock rotation using the first in, first out (FIFO) method and restock outs to minimize waste.
  • Maintain working knowledge of store systems and equipment to perform duties effectively.
  • Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo services, poster printing, and creative machine operation.
  • Suggestively sell promotional photo products to enhance the customer experience.
  • Assume web pick-up responsibilities, including monitoring orders in the designated system, filling orders (picking items), and delivering orders to customers as they arrive at the store.
  • Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the store remains clean, neat, orderly, and visually appealing.

Compliance and Professional Development

  • Comply with all arenaflex policies and procedures; maintain respectful and collaborative relationships with coworkers.
  • Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned by management.
  • Earn and maintain PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state-required certification/registration.
  • Attend training sessions and complete required PPLs (Performance Planning and Learning) as requested by management or assigned by corporate.
  • Acquire continuing education credits to maintain certification and stay current in the field.
  • Maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including the latest news and developments in the industry.

Qualifications and Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Language Skills: Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Exception may apply in Puerto Rico based on local requirements)
  • Availability: Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours, to meet the needs of our customers and operations.
  • Legal Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Retail Experience: Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment, demonstrating customer service skills and product knowledge.
  • Industry Background: Prior work experience within the retail pharmacy or health services industry is preferred.
  • Mathematical Skills: Good math skills are essential to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications with precision.
  • Technical Proficiency: Good computer skills, including familiarity with point-of-sale systems, inventory management software, and pharmacy processing applications.
  • Inventory Control Knowledge: Familiarity with store inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Certification: Current PTCB certification or willingness to obtain certification within the required timeframe.
