Position Overview
We are currently seeking a talented and motivated SAP Functional Analyst – Procurement & Enterprise Systems to join our distinguished IT team. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between business requirements and technical solutions, focusing on our SAP Ariba and Oracle PeopleSoft platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of functional expertise, technical acumen, and exceptional communication skills to drive meaningful improvements across our enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities
As a Functional Analyst at arenaflex, you will be responsible for understanding the requirements of our clients and stakeholders, comprehending requirements for team and domain-specific systems, performing technical system and data analysis, and developing specifications representing both user interface and data interface requirements. You will collaborate with vendors on technical issues, contribute to technical designs, and assist in the configuration of SAP Ariba and Oracle PeopleSoft applications.
Core Duties Include:
- Business Requirements Analysis: Analyze and translate complex cross-functional business requirements and process flows, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and technological capabilities.
- Gap Analysis: Perform gap analysis between "as-is" and "to-be" processes, making strategic recommendations on areas for continuous process improvement and operational efficiency.
- Technical Specification Development: Execute and drive the development of technical specifications by collaborating with both technical and non-technical teams, translating functional designs into technical designs, validating macro plans, and reviewing micro plans.
- Testing and Validation: Plan, develop, and execute testing protocols including unit testing, integration testing, and system testing as driven by business requirements and quality assurance standards.
- Systems and Data Analysis: Perform comprehensive systems and data analysis to determine functional design requirements and understand how the system should operate, including how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
- Team Enablement: Assist partners in developing and fostering the skills necessary to understand application concepts and tool suites, empowering business users to leverage technology effectively.
- Configuration Management: Manage, define, drive, and execute on a case-by-case basis, the implementation of configurations across applications and interfaces.
- Requirements Translation: Help colleagues develop and foster the skills necessary to elicit and translate requirements into functional design specifications.
- Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve issues often requiring proactive problem-solving, anticipating problems before they occur or escalate, developing and evaluating options, and implementing effective solutions.
- Standards and Best Practices: Create and ensure adherence to a framework of standards, best practices, services, and patterns that promote consistency and excellence across the organization.
- Acquisition Process Expertise: Obtain and maintain a robust understanding of Acquisition processes, both strategic (such as supplier management, spend analysis, strategic sourcing, supplier onboarding, contracting) and operational (including MRP, requisitioning, purchase orders, receiving, invoicing, and payment).
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Respond to requests from IT and Business teams, working from documented detailed business requirements in the context of target business outcomes while considering business processes, data, business-client relationships, and technology.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with both IT and Business colleagues to clarify requirements and support development efforts, verifying alignment proposals for business requirement coverage.
- Project Support: Support delivery of projects and improvements, clarifying requirements and performing supporting configuration as needed, participating in and/or reviewing solution design, and mentoring business teams on data activities and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Required Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following essential requirements:
- SAP Ariba Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on SAP Ariba experience, demonstrating practical knowledge of procurement and spend management solutions.
- Functional Analysis Background: Minimum of 3 years in functional analysis or comparable experience, with a demonstrated commitment to applying appropriate skills and work ethic to meet deadlines and deliver results.
- Analytical Excellence: Excellent analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets and provide effective solutions to business challenges.
- Interpersonal Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate and effectively engage with individuals at all levels of the organization, from executive leadership to operational teams.
- Written Communication: Demonstrated strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to create clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation.
- Work Ethic: Strong work ethic, demonstrated attention to detail, and excellent time management abilities to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Track Record: Proven history of successful execution, project delivery, and the ability to work cross-functionally with business and Information Systems teams.
- Agile Methodology: Previous experience working in an Agile environment, understanding iterative development and collaborative project management approaches.
- Independence: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability for deliverables and outcomes.
- Problem-Solving: Creative, innovative, and responsive mindset with a strong drive to succeed and deliver results in a timely manner.

Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications would be advantageous:
- Experience with SAP or other ERP implementation projects, demonstrating knowledge of enterprise system lifecycles.
- 2-5 years of retail or wholesale business experience within the technology sector.
- Proficiency in Google productivity suite applications including email, spreadsheets, documents, and presentations.
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow (Carts+) Portfolio and Program Management module.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft or Ariba software/systems is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
