Job Summary As a Customer Service/Sales associate at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for providing fast, friendly service to our customers, learning about our products, and selling entire projects to meet their needs. You'll work closely with your Department Supervisor and other associates to ensure that our customers receive exceptional service and that our store departments are maintained in a safe, clean, and shop-able condition. Key Responsibilities * Provide fast, friendly service to customers by actively seeking out their needs and providing assistance * Learn about products using our tools and provide information to customers to sell entire projects * Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in your department * Handle basics in adjacent departments, including Building Materials, D‚cor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental * Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe * Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies & standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty * Work in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department as well as other departments * Participate in sales initiatives and promotions to drive sales growth and meet sales targets * Develop and maintain relationships with customers to build loyalty and drive repeat business Essential Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred * 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or construction-related environment * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues * Strong product knowledge and ability to learn about new products and services * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines * Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time Preferred Qualifications * Experience in a sales or customer service role in a retail or construction-related environment * Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment * Experience with sales software and technology, including CRM systems and sales analytics tools * Ability to speak multiple languages, with a focus on Spanish or other languages commonly spoken in our markets * Experience working in a team environment, with a focus on collaboration and teamwork Skills and Competencies * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues * Excellent product knowledge and ability to learn about new products and services * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines * Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions * Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on collaboration and teamwork Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we're committed to helping our associates grow and develop their careers.
