Position Overview
We are currently seeking motivated and talented students to join our Revenue Technology and Data Analytics IT team for a summer internship. This role offers hands-on experience in one of the most dynamic areas of our organization—where data meets business strategy and technology drives revenue optimization.
As a member of our IT team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to projects that directly impact arenaflex's bottom line and customer experience. Depending on your assigned team, you may be supporting various IT initiatives in roles such as Business Analyst, Developer, Systems Analyst, or Data Analyst/Business Intelligence specialist.
What You'll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities)
Your responsibilities will be diverse and meaningful, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of how IT powers a global aviation leader. Here's what you can expect:
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements for system improvements and new initiatives.
- System Design & Testing: Participate in the design and testing of decision support systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and functionality.
- Software Development: Contribute to the development, maintenance, enhancement, and support of our software applications and infrastructure environments.
- Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics tools to create performance dashboards and service level agreements that drive business insights and operational excellence.
- Technical Innovation: Work with various methodologies and technologies including Java/JEE, JSON, Spring, Angular, Agile/DevOps delivery, API, JavaScript, C++ on Linux, Python, REST, XML, web services, HTML, Oracle, and emerging mobile technologies.
- Business Intelligence: Support the creation of reports, visualizations, and analytics that help leadership make informed strategic decisions.
- Collaboration: Work alongside experienced professionals on cross-functional teams, gaining exposure to different aspects of IT operations within a Fortune 500 company.
- Continuous Learning: Engage with emerging technologies and industry best practices to solve complex business challenges.
What We're Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Educational Background: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Location: Ability to work from our Atlanta or Minneapolis-St. Paul office locations. Most teams operate on a hybrid schedule (partially on-site, partially remote) with management approval.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to process complex information and extract meaningful insights.
- Leadership Potential: Demonstrated leadership abilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.

- Programming Experience: Hands-on experience with any of our tech stack components, including Java, Python, JavaScript, or database technologies.
- Project Experience: Previous involvement in academic or personal projects that demonstrate technical proficiency and creativity.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the aviation industry and how technology supports operational and business objectives.
