Role Description
We are seeking a Virtual Patient Services Coordinator to support a U.S.-based behavioral health organization focused on expanding access to high-quality mental health care. This is a non-clinical, administrative role that plays a critical part in the patient experience through scheduling, communication, and accurate system management.
You’ll work closely with internal teams and providers in a fully remote, async-first environment, where clear documentation, proactive communication, and ownership are essential.
This role is ideal for someone with early experience in healthcare administration who is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, mission-driven setting.
- Responsibilities:
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments.
- Respond to patient inquiries via email and live calls.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Support intake, rescheduling, and administrative follow-ups as needed.
- Ensure all communications and documentation comply with HIPAA and healthcare privacy standards
- Maintain organized internal documentation and notes
- Assist with internal reporting and data tracking to support operational visibility.
- Collect and verify necessary information (e.g., insurance, pre-visit assessments) ahead of upcoming appointments
- Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience in a healthcare administrative or patient services
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Solid understanding of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently in a remote, async-first environment
- Exposure to behavioral health or mental health settings strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience with:
- Patient communication (email and phone)
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
$600-800 USD/month, depending on experience
