We are currently looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to join our growing team in South Africa. This role is remote-based and will service the Western Cape, Northern Cape, Free State and Namibia. This role requires a combination of engineering thinking, strong communication skills, and the ability to build trusted partnerships. You will work closely with R&D engineers, production teams, purchasers, and repair professionals, helping them improve asset reliability and life span, aesthetics, production and manufacturing efficiency, and maintenance through technical sales of engineered adhesive and coating technologies.

  • Actively promote and sell WEICON’s full range of tailored solutions in adhesives, sealants, protective coatings, and corrosion protection.
  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities in manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance environment in respective territories through regular visits and communication
  • Provide technical consultation and on-site support for product selection, trials, implementation, and application guidance
  • Deliver engaging product demonstrations and presentations to influence decision makers
  • Build long-term, trust-based relationships with engineers, technicians, and procurement teams
  • Analyse customer processes to offer tailored solutions that improve performance and efficiency
  • Act as a solution consultant – confidently challenging conventional methods with innovative alternative solutions
  • Plan and manage your territories autonomously, supported by the back-office team
  • Represent the company and brand values in a highly professional, solution-oriented manner
  • Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Collaborate with the internal team to ensure high levels of customer service.
  • Track sales activity, prepare reports, and contribute to regional growth strategy.

  • Proven track record in technical sales, ideally with experience in engineered adhesives, sealants, protective coatings, or a related field in B2B and B2C environments
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence, present, negotiate, and inspire confidence in others through innovation to solve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility with both technical and commercial stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently with clear focus on goals
  • Strong planning and territory management capabilities
  • Strong understanding of industrial and maintenance processes.
  • Technically inclined with the ability to understand and explain complex solutions.
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle in excellent condition.
  • Proficient in MS Office and CRM software.
