The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) is seeking enthusiastic and self-motivated professionals to join their team as Tax Auditors. This role involves managing audits, attending training, and interacting with taxpayers to ensure fair revenue collection for essential public services.
Responsibilities

- Attend training classes and work with a mentor to develop audit plans
- Perform audits and strengthen your technical skills
- Meet with taxpayers and their representatives to:
- Answer tax-related inquiries
- Explain audit findings and reports
- Receive support from supervisors, trainers, and team members as you learn all facets of the position
Skills
- Candidates must complete the required college-level courses by the time of application to be considered eligible
- Position requires employee to be fingerprinted and successfully pass a background investigation
- Travel is required fifty percent (50%) of the time
- Position may require overnight travel for up to five (5) consecutive nights to meet training requirements
- If education is required to meet the MQs please attach a copy of all of your transcripts that show the completion of the required education
- Applicants who completed their education outside the United States (with foreign degrees/transcripts) must obtain and submit verification of United States course/degree equivalency by the time of appointment
