Altruic Advisors is a purpose-driven CPA firm for nonprofit organizations. They are seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to provide remote accounting services, perform day-to-day accounting tasks, and support nonprofit clients across the United States.


Responsibilities

  • Support our CFO Solutions team in providing remote accounting services to nonprofit organizations across the United States
  • Perform time-sensitive, day-to-day accounting tasks for a wide range of nonprofit clients, including:
  • Entering transactions and maintaining general ledgers
  • Managing accounts payable
  • Processing payroll
  • Reconciling bank and credit card accounts
  • Communicate directly with clients and collaborate with other Altruic Advisors team members to answer questions, respond to requests, and resolve accounting issues
  • Provide audit support for clients, including communication with the client’s auditors and fulfilling requests for accounting records or other documentation
  • Establish, document, and evaluate internal processes to increase efficiency and ensure an exceptional client experience

Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • One year of recent accounting experience (nonprofit experience is preferred, but not required)
  • A strong understanding of GAAP and the ability to consistently apply GAAP principles in day-to-day accounting transactions
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks Online and BILL.com (or a willingness to learn)
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to maintain an excellent rapport with nonprofit clients
  • Communicates openly with managers and other team members to keep everyone informed of progress, challenges, and successes
  • Prefers working within a small, non-traditional firm environment
  • Detail-oriented and a strong critical thinker
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving; anticipates and resolves potential issues before they escalate
  • Takes ownership of tasks and seeks out solutions independently
  • A positive attitude, outstanding client service skills, and a desire to learn and grow
  • Nonprofit experience
