Software Engineer in Test

PayPal is a global leader in digital payments, empowering consumers and businesses around the world. They are seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to develop and execute tests, collaborate with teams, and enhance the quality of their software releases.

Responsibilities

• Implements tasks within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), receiving structure and oversight from more experienced staff
• Follows well-established internal conventions and standard procedures
• Understands internal standards & processes and applies them to make technical decisions
• Collaborates with peers, manager, and project lead to gain understanding of tasks and review solutions
• May contribute to code & design reviews
• Proficiency in creating test plans, test cases, and executing E2E test scenarios
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Keen eye for quality, with a passion for preventing issues before they impact user
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams

Skills

• 1+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficiency in creating test plans, test cases, and executing E2E test scenarios
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Keen eye for quality, with a passion for preventing issues before they impact user
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams
• Experience testing browser extensions
• Proficiency with Javascript and modern web automation frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium)
• Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
