Position Overview

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Voice of Customer Data Engineer to join our dynamic Analytics & Insights team at arenaflex. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the transformation and innovation of our end-to-end Voice of Customer methodology. In this role, you will work closely with product owners, subject matter experts, and agile technology teams to build robust data architectures that power customer experience insights across the organization.

Key Responsibilities


  • Platform Development & Maintenance: Assist in the development and maintenance of our next-generation Voice of Customer platform sourced from Cornerstone and integrated with our survey and dashboard infrastructure hosted through Qualtrics, our premier survey vendor.

  • Business Requirements Definition: Work closely with application teams to define, structure, and capture comprehensive business requirements, translating them into technical specifications and data models.

  • Data Architecture Design: Design and build robust data model architectures to support optimal data processing and standardized metric definitions across all customer touchpoints.

  • Big Data Solutions: Enable big data and batch/real-time analytical solutions using transformational technologies including Hadoop, HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Spark, and Python to deliver innovative solutions that ensure data quality and accuracy through intensive testing at variable and use-case levels.

  • Performance Optimization: Offer guidance to enhance competencies and drive efficiency in computing programs using the massive data ecosystem.

  • Consumer Story Analysis: Power consumer story analysis and elaboration, design and development of software programs, exploring and building automation tools.

  • Process Automation: Proactively identify and automate manual tasks to improve quality and operational efficiency across the team.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with partners from various business units to prioritize, define, develop, and test data for different use cases as part of the Voice of Customer end-to-end methodology.

Essential Qualifications


  • Technical Experience: Minimum 3+ years of hands-on development experience with Hive/Hadoop, PySpark, Python, Shell Scripting languages, along with development, launch management, and troubleshooting expertise for data-driven projects.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to actively collaborate with relationship managers and product owners to understand functional requirements and convert them into technical deliverables.

  • Agile Methodology: Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies where small increments of a product are introduced at regular intervals to business groups.

  • Data Engineering Fundamentals: Strong understanding of data pipeline architecture, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.

  • Programming Proficiency: Solid programming skills in Python and experience with big data processing frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with Qualtrics or similar survey platforms

  • Knowledge of Cornerstone data integration

  • Experience in the financial services or customer experience industry

  • Understanding of machine learning concepts as they apply to customer analytics

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
