What You'll Do

As a Senior Software Engineer on our Enterprise Sales Systems team, you'll play a critical role in building and maintaining the systems that power our vacation booking experiences. You'll work alongside talented engineers, product managers, and business partners to deliver cross-platform integrated experiences that will define how children and families interact with our digital and physical assets worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect Innovative Solutions: Develop cutting-edge solutions to keep our Sales system synchronized with various fulfillment systems, ensuring a seamless booking experience for every guest.


• Anomaly Detection: Build robust anomaly detection capabilities within the Sales system to identify and address irregularities before they impact guest experiences.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with multi-functional teams to develop Travelbox interfaces for customer-facing systems, including User Interfaces, Core APIs, and abstraction services.


• Tool Development: Design, evaluate, and maintain tools that support our Sales system infrastructure and enhance developer productivity.


• Security Excellence: Help improve development velocity while ensuring products meet stringent security standards. Identify vulnerabilities and develop fixes that adhere to industry security best practices.


• Data Integration: Update and improve reconciliation processes and other batch jobs that ensure data consistency across our systems.


• Analytics & Reporting: Develop dashboards that help measure and assess incident impact and severity, enabling rapid response to service disruptions.


• Monitoring & Alerts: Collaborate with other IT teams to configure monitoring systems and alerts that proactively notify us of potential issues.


• Process Automation: Partner with Revenue Management and Fulfillment teams to automate reconciliation processes, reducing manual effort and improving accuracy.


• Infrastructure as Code: Identify configuration gaps with our local Terraform reference libraries and work with the Reference Design team for continuous improvement.


• Cloud Infrastructure: Develop reusable infrastructure code and testing frameworks that can be leveraged across multiple projects and teams.


• On-Call Excellence: Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability and rapid incident response.

What We're Looking For

Required Skills and Experience

• Technical Depth: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in technology roles, with a proven track record of delivering complex software solutions.


• Programming Expertise: Strong proficiency in Java 8 or higher, with the ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of Resort Sales and Fulfillment domains, including the complexities of vacation booking systems, inventory management, and guest service workflows.

• Cloud Platform Mastery: Extensive experience with AWS technologies including ECS, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, Redis, CloudWatch, Kinesis, and AWS API Gateway.


• DevOps Practices: Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices.


• Database Expertise: Strong understanding of Oracle databases, including query optimization, schema design, and performance tuning.


• Enterprise Java Technologies: Experience with Spring Core, Spring Boot, Maven, Tomcat, REST APIs, and SOAP web services.


• Modern Development Practices: Hands-on experience with Microservices architecture, Git version control, and JUnit testing frameworks.


• Message Queuing: Familiarity with RabbitMQ for asynchronous communication between services.


• Observability Tools: Hands-on experience using AppDynamics and Splunk for application monitoring and troubleshooting.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

Nice to Have

• Experience in performance, load, and stress testing of sales systems at scale.


• Knowledge of Python or other programming languages for automation and scripting.


• Strong Linux systems administration skills.


• Ability to collaborate effectively in a small, productive development team as well as the broader technology organization.


• Deep understanding of OTAX libraries for tax calculation and compliance.


• Experience with Kubernetes container orchestration.


• Background in hospitality or travel industry technology.
