What You'll Do

As a Senior Active Directory & PKI Customer Engineer at arenaflex, you will serve as a key technical resource for our customers, focusing on delivering proactive services that drive value and innovation. Your primary responsibilities will include:


  • Architecting Enterprise PKI Solutions: Design and implement large-scale two and three-tier PKI hierarchies with multiple issuers, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance with industry best practices.

  • Delivering Technical Assessments: Conduct comprehensive assessments of customers' existing Active Directory and PKI environments, identifying improvement opportunities and developing strategic recommendations.

  • Providing Expert Guidance: Serve as the trusted advisor for customers on all matters related to Active Directory Certificate Services, including NDES (Network Device Enrollment Service) and OCSP (Online Certificate Status Protocol) implementations.

  • Leading Education Workshops: Create and deliver interactive training sessions and workshops that empower customers to maximize the value of their identity and security infrastructure.

  • Performing Database Maintenance: Implement PKI domain maintenance procedures and database cleanup options to ensure optimal performance and reliability of certificate services.

  • Troubleshooting Complex Issues: Diagnose and resolve intricate Active Directory and PKI issues, utilizing advanced troubleshooting methodologies and best practices.

  • Implementing Cross-Forest Solutions: Design and execute cross-forest Active Directory implementations that enable seamless identity management across complex enterprise environments.

  • Building Customer Relationships: Establish and nurture strategic relationships with customer stakeholders, gaining their trust and respect through consistent delivery of exceptional technical outcomes.

  • Contributing to Best Practices: Assist in developing and documenting best practices, playbooks, and technical guidance documents that enhance team readiness and consistency.

  • Staying Current with Technology: Maintain, extend, and acquire relevant accreditations and certifications to remain at the forefront of identity and security technologies.

Technical Expertise We Seek

We are looking for a professional with deep, 300-400 level knowledge in the following technology areas. This means having not just familiarity, but hands-on experience and the ability to architect solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and mentor others.

Required Technical Skills


  • Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS): Comprehensive experience with designing, deploying, and managing enterprise PKI solutions, including certificate authorities, enrollment services, and certificate templates.

  • NDES (Network Device Enrollment Service): Practical experience implementing and managing NDES for secure device enrollment in enterprise environments.

  • OCSP (Online Certificate Status Protocol): Expertise in deploying and configuring OCSP responders for efficient certificate validation and revocation checking.

  • Database Cleanup & PKI Maintenance: Strong understanding of database cleanup procedures and ongoing PKI domain maintenance to ensure system health and performance.

  • Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS): In-depth knowledge of Active Directory architecture, replication, and performance monitoring.

  • Group Policy: Experience with Group Policy implementation, design, and troubleshooting for enterprise identity and access management.

  • Security & Administration: Strong security mindset with experience administering and securing Active Directory environments, particularly as it relates to PKI integration.

  • Networking Fundamentals: Solid understanding of IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, WINS, and routing concepts to effectively integrate identity solutions with network infrastructure.

Preferred Technical Skills


  • Large Scale PKI Hierarchies: Experience designing and managing PKI hierarchies with more than one issuer, supporting thousands of certificates across distributed enterprises.

  • Scripted Installations: Proficiency with automating AD CS deployments using scripts and configuration management tools.

  • Cross-Forest Implementations: Experience with implementing Active Directory and PKI solutions across multiple forests and domains.

  • Active Directory Scripting: Knowledge of scripting technologies such as PowerShell for automating administrative tasks and building custom solutions.

  • Disaster Recovery: Understanding of Active Directory disaster recovery procedures and best practices.

  • Monitoring Tools: Experience with Active Directory monitoring and diagnostics tools.

  • Microsoft Identity Manager: Familiarity with identity governance and administration solutions.

  • Active Directory Federated Services (AD FS): Knowledge of federation services for single sign-on implementations.

  • Azure AD Connect: Experience with hybrid identity solutions integrating on-premises AD with Azure Active Directory.

  • Azure Active Directory: Understanding of cloud-based identity and access management in Microsoft Azure.

Contract Details
