As a member of our Data Platform - Insights team, you will provide critical data analysis and support to platform, management, and operational engineering teams. Your work will help define what questions should be asked and scale analysis methods and tools to support our rapidly growing business. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting the vision for business analytics, designing solutions for data-related business constructs, and driving strategic execution through exploratory analysis and mission reporting.

What You'll Do

As a Data Scientist, Analytics at arenaflex, you will be at the forefront of data-driven decision making. Your responsibilities will span multiple dimensions of the business, requiring both technical expertise and strong communication skills. Here's what you can expect:

• Strategic Data Partnership: Work closely with members of our Platforms and Services teams to guide them toward better decision-making using available data. You'll serve as a trusted advisor, helping teams understand and leverage their data assets effectively.


• Insight Communication: Advance data and insights by managing communications with partners and other teams. Collaborate with colleagues to complete data projects and ensure all parties can use insights to further improve operations and drive growth.


• Subject Matter Expertise: Maintain a client-driven focus while becoming a space and product expert through data. Develop trust among peers and ensure that teams and projects have access to data for decision-making.


• Problem Resolution: Manage ambiguous issues and adapt tools to address complex questions. Navigate challenges with creativity and precision, finding innovative solutions to novel problems.


• Trade-off Analysis: Identify the trade-offs between speed and quality of different approaches. Help teams balance the need for quick insights with the requirement for accuracy and thoroughness.


• Metrics Framework Development: Create analytical frameworks to measure team success by working with teams to establish success metrics, develop approaches to track data and analyze errors, measure and evaluate data to develop a common language for all partners to understand these metrics.


• Process Operationalization: Operationalize data processes to provide partners with ad-hoc analysis, automated dashboards, and self-service reporting tools so everyone gets a fair view of the state of the business.

Who We're Looking For

We're searching for an experienced data professional who will handle data instrumentation, dashboard and report building, metrics reviews, inform team projects, provide guidance on success/failure metrics, and conduct ad-hoc analysis. You will work with both technical and non-technical staff members throughout the organization, and your work will impact many partners across arenaflex.

Essential Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years of domain experience in a consumer web business, or in a high-speed, high-growth product or team environment.


• Technical Skills: Master SQL skills and proficiency in Python or R. You should be comfortable writing complex queries and manipulating large datasets.


• Business Acumen: Experience using data to create insights and drive business results. You know how to translate technical findings into business recommendations.


• Analytical Expertise: Familiarity with data analysis and communication around data, including time series analysis, experimentation, data visualization, and defining the KPI strategy for your business.


• Collaboration: Excellent collaborative skills with the ability to maintain relationships across teams and departments.


• Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Passion about online communities, gaming, and live streaming platforms


• Experience in Operational Excellence, defining metrics and analysis reporting


• Experience working with software development and operational event data


• Experience with machine learning techniques such as logistic regression, decision trees, and neural networks
