Join arenaflex as a Senior Data Lead – Studio Content Management

Are you passionate about data integrity and thrive in dynamic, innovation-driven environments? arenaflex is searching for an experienced Data Lead to join our Studio Data Management team within Content & Business Products (CBP), where we build solutions that fuel groundbreaking content creation across the entertainment industry. As a Senior Data Lead at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in managing data quality for large-scale operational datasets that power critical business decisions throughout our content lifecycle—from initial pitch to global release.

At arenaflex, we believe that exceptional data is the foundation of extraordinary storytelling. Our Studio Data Management crew works closely with product teams, engineering partners, and business stakeholders to ensure that our data delivers measurable value while continuously improving underlying data quality through advanced methodologies, analysis, user education, and strategic recommendations. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an evolving team that sits at the intersection of entertainment, technology, and data science.

About the Role

In this position, you will focus specifically on data related to the deals arenaflex makes with talent and production companies for the content we deliver to millions of subscribers worldwide. Deal data is used extensively throughout studio operations—from the moment a project is pitched to when it premieres on our platform—and it is absolutely vital that this information is accurate, complete, well-connected, and easily accessible across the organization.

As a Senior Data Lead, you will help define, analyze, and document data quality requirements to meet complex business needs. You will devise and socialize best practices across departments, create and execute comprehensive strategies to monitor and resolve data issues efficiently, and work alongside product squads on initiatives related to product development while simultaneously guiding improvements to our foundational data health infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will love digging into large datasets to uncover patterns and diagnose root causes of data discrepancies. You must have the agility to pivot between deep, heads-down project execution and customer-focused problem-solving, and you should be genuinely excited about the possibility of contributing to a rapidly evolving team in a company that is transforming how the world experiences entertainment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Lead at arenaflex, you will own the following critical responsibilities:

  • Strategic Data Planning: Provide near-term and long-term thinking for deal data needs across the studio, including data quality and data education. Create quarterly goals to satisfy near and long-term business targets and lead execution of roadmap initiatives.

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Act as the primary data entity subject-matter expert across the studio, professionally consulting with product management, engineers, designers, and stakeholders on all work related to deal data and content agreements.

  • Metrics Development: Work with product management, product Data Science Engineers (DSE), and other partners to define, create, analyze, and document metrics that provide visibility into diverse dimensions of data quality and operational efficiency.

  • Strategy Implementation: Independently define and implement strategies to scale data quality work efficiently across multiple business units and product lines.

  • Project Leadership: Lead data quality initiatives to support product development and to enhance foundational data health, developing detailed plans that identify business impact, timelines, risks, and measurable outcomes.

  • Stakeholder Management: Manage stakeholder requests and drive stakeholder alignment when needed, ensuring cross-functional collaboration and clear communication channels.

  • User Support: Act as a resource for responding to users' data-related support requests, providing timely and accurate resolutions.

  • Process Improvement: Partner with business teams to create and implement more efficient processes, data quality best practices, and comprehensive educational documentation.

Required Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who bring a proven track record of success in data management roles. The following qualifications are essential:

  • Experience: 6+ years of experience operating in data management with databases and/or content management systems.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical talents and an ability to synthesize information across a broad ecosystem to diagnose complex issues and devise effective solutions.

  • Process Optimization: Strong understanding of workflow and the ability to recognize inefficiencies and recommend improvements.

  • Industry Knowledge: General understanding of the pitch-to-play lifecycle of content, including production, distribution, and licensing processes.

  • Data Governance: Knowledge of data lifecycle and data governance concepts, including data modeling, lineage, and metadata management.

  • Project Management: Excellent time-management and project management skills with the ability to manage timelines for multiple concurrent initiatives.

  • Communication: Strong ability to communicate with empathy and clarity to both technical and non-technical audiences, adapting your messaging based on stakeholder needs.

  • Adaptability: Flexible in an evolving environment, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to thrive in fast-paced, rapidly changing conditions.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Google Suite and spreadsheet-based programs (e.g., Excel, Airtable) is required.

Preferred (Additive) Skills

While not required, the following skills and experiences would strengthen your application:

  • Experience with SQL and database query languages for data extraction and analysis.

  • Experience working with product, engineering, and customer service teams in cross-functional environments.

  • Background in legal operations or studio operations, including contract management and content licensing.

  • Experience working at a studio, distributor, film sales company, production company, talent agency, management corporation, or other entertainment operation.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
