James A. George, P.C. is a boutique CPA firm based in Andover, Massachusetts, focused exclusively on audit and review engagements for nonprofit organizations. We work with a diverse range of nonprofits across the country, operating fully remotely at the partner level. We do not perform government or Single Audits — our work is focused, meaningful, and high quality.

The role

We are looking for an experienced audit professional with 2–4 years of public accounting experience to join our team as a senior associate or audit manager. You will work directly with the partner on audit and SSARS review engagements for nonprofit clients, with significant responsibility and direct exposure to complex accounting issues from day one.

This is a fully remote position. You must be US-based and authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Execute audit and SSARS review engagements for nonprofit clients under partner supervision

Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and ASC 958

Draft and review audit workpapers, footnotes, and management letters

Communicate directly with nonprofit clients on engagement matters

Identify and research technical accounting issues relevant to nonprofit organizations

Qualifications

2–4 years of public accounting experience, with nonprofit audit experience strongly preferred

CPA license or active CPA candidate preferred

Familiarity with ASC 958 nonprofit accounting standards

Experience with Thomson Reuters Engagement Manager or similar audit software a plus

Self-directed with strong written communication skills and ability to manage multiple engagements remotely

US-based and authorized to work in the United States
