Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Staff Accountant to join our amazing culture. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for day-to-day operations, month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes for inventory and cost accounting functions.


Responsibilities

  • Under supervision, responsible for day-to-day operations, month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes for the inventory and cost accounting functions
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Understand technical accounting and provide sufficient documentation supporting entries
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and research variances for assigned accounts
  • Manage the maintenance and periodic updates of cost accounting records
  • Assist with periodic physical inventory
  • Assist with B/S and P&L variance analysis including variances against budget and prior periods, providing detailed insights and actionable recommendations to management
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and internal management reports
  • Use accounting standards and internal company policies to analyze and propose solutions for accounting issues
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and support business operations
  • Assist with periodic audits and provide necessary documentation
  • Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited university or college
  • 1-3 years accounting related experience
  • CPA or progression toward CPA
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Curious mindset, eagerness to learn and open to new challenges
  • Self-motivation, a “can-do” attitude
  • High attention to detail
  • Flexibility; ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong planning and organizational skills; ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong team player able to effectively collaborate with others within and outside accounting teams
  • Adaptability and enthusiasm for embracing new technology
  • Public accounting audit experience
  • Experience working in cost accounting function within a manufacturing or construction company
  • NetSuite or other large ERP experience
