Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Onward is a company focused on improving wellbeing through their Companion rideshare services and transportation management platform. They are seeking a Recruiting and Onboarding Specialist who will manage high-volume interviews, guide candidates through the onboarding process, and ensure compliance and readiness for new hires.
Responsibilities
- Running a high volume of virtual interviews for 1099 driver applicants across multiple markets
- Helping us grow our internal team - sourcing, screening, and scheduling for roles across the company
- Guiding candidates through interviews, follow-ups, and onboarding with clarity and a personal touch
- Reviewing documents, licenses, and compliance items to ensure every candidate is ready to hit the road
- Assisting with HR tasks like onboarding new hires, sending offer letters, and keeping our records clean and current
- Improving processes as you go - whether it’s a smoother scheduling system or a more fun welcome email
- Managing many moving parts while keeping everything neat, tracked, and under control
- Own daily interview volume and candidate conversion targets
- Track and improve funnel metrics (show rate, pass rate, onboarding completion)
- Follow up with candidates to drive completion and reduce drop-off
Skills
- 1-2 years of recruiting (1099 or full time hiring - either works!), onboarding, operations, customer support, or high-volume coordination experience
- You are comfortable with repetitive, structured workflows and high daily interview volume
- You love talking to people, asking the right questions, and keeping things moving
- You're comfortable with HR basics like onboarding and file collection
- You have startup energy: You jump in where needed, think on your feet, and love rolling with whatever the day brings
- You're process-minded: You stay on top of workflows, schedules, and details with ease
- You have a positive, people-first mindset that makes candidates feel like more than just an application
- You're motivated by hitting daily/weekly hiring targets
- You move quickly and follow up relentlessly
- You're comfortable being measured on output and conversion
- You're comfortable working PST hours
