[Remote] Microsoft 365 Identity Engineer

As a Microsoft 365 Identity Engineer, you will provide engineering expertise to modernize the cloud environment, manage onboarding/offboarding, and collaborate with teams to ensure optimal and secure solutions.

Responsibilities

• Support tickets related to:
• Login/authentication issues (MFA, lockouts, access failures)
• M365 services (mail, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive)
• Manage onboarding/offboarding across AD, Okta, and M365
• Investigate and resolve policy-related issues (DLP, compliance, device policies)
• Collaborate with adjacent teams (security, networking, endpoint) as needed
• Maintain documentation and support audit/compliance requests
• Mailbox management, shared mailboxes, distribution groups
• Teams access, policies, and external collaboration troubleshooting
• Mail flow investigation and user access issues
• User lifecycle management across AD, Okta, and M365
• Federation (SSO) and MFA troubleshooting
• Group-based access and provisioning flows
• Understanding of sync and identity flow across systems
• IOS device compliance and enrollment troubleshooting
• Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies
• Retention and data governance validation
• MFA enforcement and access controls
• Troubleshooting access restrictions tied to device or policy

Skills

• 1-4 years demonstrated Cloud Engineering experience
• Strong understanding of hybrid identity environments
• Ability to troubleshoot across AD → Okta → Entra → M365 flow
• Familiarity with SSO, federation, and MFA behavior
• Experience supporting compliance-driven environments
• Clear communication and documentation skills
• PowerShell (Exchange Online, basic Graph usage)
• Familiarity with audit logs (Purview / Entra)
• Experience in regulated or government environments
• Bachelors with 1+ YOE
