[Remote] Generative AI Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Matricstek Inc. is seeking a Junior Generative AI Engineer to support the development of AI-powered applications using large language models. The role involves building, testing, and improving AI-driven features such as chatbots and automation tools while collaborating with senior engineers and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building LLM-powered applications (chatbots, assistants, internal tools)
• Write and test prompts and system instructions for better output quality
• Help implement basic RAG pipelines using embeddings and vector databases
• Integrate AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) into backend services
• Support in developing APIs using Python (FastAPI / Flask)
• Test AI outputs, identify issues (hallucinations, incorrect responses), and suggest improvements
• Work with datasets (cleaning, chunking, formatting for embeddings)
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams on feature development

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Basic proficiency in Python
• Understanding of Generative AI / LLM concepts
• Familiarity with prompt engineering basics
• Familiarity with APIs and JSON
• Exposure to tools like OpenAI API, Hugging Face, or similar
• Strong problem-solving and willingness to learn
• Personal or academic projects using chatbots or AI tools
• Exposure to LangChain, LlamaIndex, or vector databases
• Basic knowledge of REST APIs and backend development
• Familiarity with Git and version control
• Internship or project experience in AI/ML
