They are seeking a Business Development Representative to identify and grow high-value partnerships across technical sectors, including AI and large language models, while contributing to sustainable revenue growth and shaping business development strategy.


Responsibilities

  • Identifying, pitching, and securing new partnership and licensing opportunities
  • Managing and growing relationships with existing partners, including renewals and upsell activity
  • Representing the organisation at partner meetings, industry events, and conferences
  • Collaborating with Editorial, Legal, Product, and Technology teams to develop compelling partnership proposals
  • Supporting negotiations for pilot programmes and licensing agreements
  • Maintaining accurate records of outreach, pipelines, and active agreements using internal systems
  • Providing regular reporting and market insight to inform forecasting and planning

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and business development skills
  • Experience in partner management, sales, or business development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven negotiation experience
  • Comfortable preparing, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and licensing agreements
  • Ability to pitch confidently to clients
  • Ability to identify market trends
  • Ability to build lasting relationships
  • Ability to successfully close deals
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficient in CRM tools and the MS Office Suite (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Ability to travel as needed, including attending offsite meetings and events
  • Holding a valid driver's licence
  • Publishing industry experience or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with content licensing, rights agreements, machine learning/AI, and/or technical sectors helpful
