They are seeking a Business Development Representative to identify and grow high-value partnerships across technical sectors, including AI and large language models, while contributing to sustainable revenue growth and shaping business development strategy.
Responsibilities
- Identifying, pitching, and securing new partnership and licensing opportunities
- Managing and growing relationships with existing partners, including renewals and upsell activity
- Representing the organisation at partner meetings, industry events, and conferences
- Collaborating with Editorial, Legal, Product, and Technology teams to develop compelling partnership proposals
- Supporting negotiations for pilot programmes and licensing agreements
- Maintaining accurate records of outreach, pipelines, and active agreements using internal systems
- Providing regular reporting and market insight to inform forecasting and planning
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and business development skills
- Experience in partner management, sales, or business development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven negotiation experience
- Comfortable preparing, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and licensing agreements
- Ability to pitch confidently to clients
- Ability to identify market trends
- Ability to build lasting relationships
- Ability to successfully close deals
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience)
- Proficient in CRM tools and the MS Office Suite (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)
- Comfortable working independently
- Ability to travel as needed, including attending offsite meetings and events
- Holding a valid driver's licence
- Publishing industry experience or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with content licensing, rights agreements, machine learning/AI, and/or technical sectors helpful
