Position Overview

As a Big Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing robust data architecture that supports our enterprise analytics needs. You'll work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional teams to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions. Your expertise in big data technologies will be crucial in building scalable, efficient, and reliable data processing systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and Build Data Architecture: Create and maintain robust data models and architecture to support optimal data processing and standardized metric definitions across the organization.


• Develop Data Pipelines: Engineer end-to-end data pipelines using modern big data technologies including Hadoop, HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Spark, and Python to deliver innovative analytical solutions.


• Ensure Data Quality: Implement rigorous testing protocols at variable and use-case levels to ensure data quality and accuracy throughout the data lifecycle.


• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with partners from various business units to prioritize, define, develop, and test data solutions for diverse use cases as part of our comprehensive Voice of Customer program.


• Drive Automation: Proactively identify and automate manual tasks to improve quality, efficiency, and reduce operational overhead.


• Consumer Analytics Development: Power consumer story analysis and elaboration, design and develop software programs, and build automation tools that enhance business intelligence.


• Performance Optimization: Provide guidance to enhance capabilities and drive efficiency in computing programs using the big data ecosystem.


• Agile Delivery: Participate in agile delivery methodologies where small increments of product are introduced at regular intervals to business groups.

Essential Qualifications

• Technical Experience: Hands-on development experience with Hive/Hadoop, PySpark, Python, and Shell Scripting languages for data-driven projects spanning at least 3+ years.


• Development Operations: Strong understanding of development launch management and troubleshooting for data-intensive projects.


• Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to work collaboratively with relationship managers and product owners to understand functional requirements and convert them into technical deliverables.


• Agile Methodology: Familiarity with Agile methodologies of delivery, with experience working in sprint-based development environments.


• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform


• Knowledge of real-time streaming technologies like Kafka or Flink
