Position Overview
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Specialist to join our APAC Finance and Payroll team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of employee net pay for assigned APAC countries, maintaining the highest standards of duty, discretion, and confidentiality.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in payroll processing within a BPO or shared services environment, with particular expertise in Korea, Australia, and India payroll. You will be responsible for end-to-end payroll operations, including processing, compliance, reporting, and employee query resolution through our Zendesk ticketing system.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing: Manage the complete payroll processing cycle for assigned APAC countries using third-party payroll providers, ensuring accurate and timely compensation disbursement.
- Weekly Expenses Processing: Handle weekly expense processing in-house through Workday Host-to-Host payment systems.
- Employee Data Management: Prepare, post, and process payroll changes including new hires and leavers for each entity through Workday HCM, ensuring all information is entered accurately and timely.
- Compliance & Reporting: Responsible for reporting new hires and leavers' files to the payroll provider within specified timelines, ensuring all new hire documentation complies with regulatory requirements.
- Payroll Validation: Validate payroll input against payroll checks and coordinate with payroll carriers for required changes and corrections.
- Payment Coordination: Coordinate with payroll providers on timely payout to employees and statutory payments, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Taxation & Reporting: Carry out tasks associated with monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll reporting and taxation activities.
- Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding payroll questions through the Zendesk ticketing system, providing prompt and professional responses.
- Financial Administration: Record, screen, and monitor monthly payroll expenses and raise purchase orders as necessary.
- Contract Management: Report and monitor payroll providers' contract renewal dates to ensure continuous service coverage.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with Philippines and Singapore team members while following global system alignment and best practices.
Essential Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll and accounting processing within a BPO or shared services environment.
- Regional Expertise: Experience in APAC payroll is required, with specific knowledge of Korea, Australia, and India payroll systems and regulations.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll and associated statutory labor laws required for payroll-related calculations in the APAC region.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Microsoft Excel and Word, and Workday HCM systems.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English is essential for this role.
