Reconciliation Analyst

Bessemer Trust is a family office overseeing $250 billion in assets for wealthy individuals and families. They are seeking a Reconciliation Analyst to manage various reconciliations, maintain departmental procedures, and coordinate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies.


Responsibilities

  • Reconcile various General Ledger Accounts (liability, asset and receivable accounts, and suspense accounts)
  • Reconcile domestic and international bank accounts
  • Reconcile security purchases, sales, dividends, interest, and fees
  • Maintain accurate and current departmental desktop procedures
  • Investigate and research reconciling items, breaks, and discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., Finance, Treasury, and Operations) to resolve differences
  • Monitor and escalate aged breaks in accordance with established procedures
  • Process various journal entries in trust accounting system and general ledger
  • Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Participate in audits, and internal reviews by providing requested documentation and explanations
  • Assist other members of the Bank Operations team around deadlines with time sensitive projects
  • Be available to work unannounced overtime when needed

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • 1–2 years of experience in bank operations, reconciliations, accounting, or financial services operations
  • Working knowledge of cash, securities, and general ledger reconciliation processes
  • High attention to detail with the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve discrepancies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic (self-motivated, disciplined, focused and hardworking)
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of Oracle
