We are currently seeking a talented and driven Principal Data Scientist to join our Dynamic Experiences and Items team. In this pivotal role, you will help shape the future of guest experiences by developing, deploying, and supporting cutting-edge data analysis and machine learning models for our world-renowned attractions. What You'll Do

As a Principal Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in transforming how we deliver magical experiences to millions of guests worldwide. Your contributions will directly impact operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, and the innovative technologies that set arenaflex apart in the entertainment industry.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Machine Learning Initiatives: Drive the development and execution of machine learning strategies that address complex business challenges. You'll identify opportunities where ML can solve creative problems and deliver measurable value to our operations and guest experiences.

Collaborate Across Teams: Foster strong relationships with cross-functional partners including engineers, product managers, and operational teams. Provide thought leadership and influence stakeholders to drive initiatives from concept to successful completion.

Develop and Scale ML Solutions: Lead and work alongside other data scientists and engineers to implement scalable machine learning solutions. Your work will power the intelligent systems that create seamless, personalized experiences for our guests.

Drive Innovation: Spearhead research and development efforts, including proofs of concept, technology pilots, and innovation initiatives that push the boundaries of what's possible in AI and data science.

Ensure Operational Excellence: Oversee the maintenance and support of ML-related products and services delivered by your team, ensuring reliability and performance at scale.

Establish Best Practices: Build standard methodologies for daily operations and work with specialized units to design, plan, and execute large-scale projects in the AI and machine learning space.

Productionize ML Algorithms: Deploy and optimize machine learning algorithms across predictive analytics, clustering, image recognition, natural language processing (NLP), anomaly detection, and more. Evaluate their performance on real-world datasets to ensure continuous improvement.

Collaborate for Success: Work seamlessly with various teams to achieve goals in improving system performance. Coordinate with existing software development practices to produce maintainable code, including automated testing, continuous integration, code style consistency, and comprehensive code reviews.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong business acumen and the ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.

Essential Qualifications

Technical Mastery: 2+ years of demonstrated expertise in Python programming with experience in predictive modeling using frameworks such as TensorFlow, SparkMLib, PySpark, LightGBM, MXNet, or similar technologies.

Cloud Expertise: 2+ years of advanced experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS (Amazon Web Services) and GCP (Google Cloud Platform).

Software Development Skills: Proficiency in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), QA processes, and Object-Oriented Programming Design Patterns.

Data Management: Master-level experience with both structured and unstructured data (including images, video, text, audio) and proficiency with SQL, relational databases, and NoSQL databases.

Data Workflow Management: 2+ years of experience with Apache Airflow or similar data workflow management tools.

Version Control & MLOps: Experience with version control systems like GitHub and GitLab, Model Operations (MLOps), and CI/CD pipelines.

Business Acumen: Experience driving discovery processes with partners to identify business requirements and expected outcomes, combined with strong interpersonal skills and a results-driven mindset.

Systems Integration: Strong systems integration and architecture skills, with the ability to translate emerging technologies into practical business solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes

Experience with control systems and automation

Proficiency with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence

Experience with Agile development methodologies

Knowledge of automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous deployment practices

Experience with data visualization and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Plotly, Tableau)

Background in audio analysis and sound processing

Background in text analysis and natural language processing at production scale

Experience with cloud solutions across multiple platforms including GCP

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Programming, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

Preferred: Advanced degree (Ph.D.) in Data Science, Statistics, Programming, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
