Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis is a leading global communications agency navigating the complexities of a hyper-connected world. They are seeking a high-energy Assistant to support their Entertainment team, focusing on developing skills in entertainment PR and managing media relations.
Responsibilities
- Exhibit a relentless interest in soaking up the ins and outs of entertainment publicity
- You will learn how integrated communications—from talent and social to media relations—drive successful launches and sustain long-term brand equity
- Own the lists
- You will build and maintain meticulous media lists across entertainment trades, national news, and lifestyle outlets
- You ensure our databases are accurate, current, and strategically categorized
- Act as the team’s radar
- Monitor news cycles and social media to flag pop culture moments, competitor updates, and breaking industry news for our clients
- Support the health of various accounts by managing the backend essentials: developing agendas, meeting recaps, activity reports, and budget trackers
- Provide critical support for client meetings and events, including scheduling, RSVP management, and occasionally providing on-site staffing for premieres, screenings, and press junkets
- As a key point of contact for guests and vendors, you will greet visitors and manage light office duties (such as preparing conference rooms or the rooftop for meetings) with a professional, courteous, and inclusive demeanor

- You lead by example in how you treat your co-workers, partners, and the media—prioritizing trust and integrity in every interaction
Skills
- Roughly 1 year of experience in marketing, entertainment, or PR
- Demonstrate emotional maturity
- Ability to read the room, maintain a calm demeanor under pressure, and communicate effectively with senior staff
- Fast, persuasive, and detail-oriented writing skills
- Ability to take complex notes and turn them into a concise, clear recap, pitch, or industry trend report
- Exceptional organizational skills with an eagle eye for detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously without letting a single detail slip
- Eager and collaborative mindset, ready to build a network within the entertainment industry
- Willingness to work select evenings and weekends when a project or event requires extra support
