What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Apprentice at arenaflex, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacy operations and delivering exceptional patient care. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Patient Interaction: Serve as the first point of contact for customers and patients, greeting them warmly and providing assistance with pharmacy services and products. Build strong relationships with our most valuable customers to ensure loyalty and satisfaction.

  • Prescription Processing: Use pharmacy systems to accurately obtain patient and drug information, and process prescriptions efficiently. Enter patient and drug records correctly into our systems, ensuring information accuracy at every step.

  • Medication Preparation: Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical tablets. Verify medication accuracy and check for possible drug interactions under the supervision of the pharmacist.

  • Quality Assurance: Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately and adhere to company rules and procedures related to pharmacy errors and quality improvement programs. Comply with all state and federal regulations regarding pharmacy practice.

  • Customer Service Excellence: Model and provide a unique and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits such as greeting, eye contact, and courtesy. Resolve customer issues and answer inquiries to ensure a positive customer experience.

  • Financial Handling: Register all related income on assigned cash registers, collect and handle cash as required. Assist customers in locating over-the-counter products in the aisles.

  • Claims Processing: Process (correct and resubmit) manual claims for third-party prescription program services in a timely and efficient manner. Perform other clerical duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.

  • Inventory Management: Assist and support pharmacy department stock management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of prescription drugs. Maintain knowledge of company asset protection techniques and document claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods.

  • Clinical Support: May assist pharmacists in administering clinical services such as the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other medical services as required. Assist pharmacy staff in coordinating clinical services, healthcare clinics, and external vendors.

  • Community Relations: Assist Pharmacy Managers and Staff Pharmacists in developing and maintaining good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers through medical provider detailing and outreach to health agencies, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other forums for enhancing growth opportunities.

  • Facility Maintenance: Assist with outside and inside maintenance by ensuring the pharmacy department is stocked with adequate supplies and remains clean, neat, and orderly in condition and appearance.

  • Compliance & Teamwork: Comply with all company policies and procedures, and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers. Complete special assignments and other responsibilities as assigned.

Education & Certification Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six months of experience in a retail environment
  • Previous work experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting
  • Strong math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medicines
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Knowledge of store inventory management
  • PTCB Certification (or willingness to obtain)
