Patent Associate – Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (Minneapolis)

Faegre Drinker is seeking a junior patent associate with an engineering background to join their dynamic Intellectual Property practice in Minneapolis. The ideal candidate will have patent prosecution experience and will be responsible for handling patent applications related to mechanical and chemical technologies.

Responsibilities

• 1-3 years of patent prosecution experience (as an agent or attorney)
• Demonstrated experience working with mechanical technologies
• The ability to handle chemical or materials science patent applications as needed
• Strong academic credentials and excellent written and oral communication skills
• USPTO and admission to a state bar from a relevant state (or wave-in capability) required

Skills

• 1-3 years of patent prosecution experience (as an agent or attorney)
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
• Demonstrated experience working with mechanical technologies
• The ability to handle chemical or materials science patent applications as needed
• Strong academic credentials and excellent written and oral communication skills
• USPTO and admission to a state bar from a relevant state (or wave-in capability) required
• Graduate degree a plus
