Linux Systems Administrator

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to enhance technology supporting the Navy. The role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux servers, developing automation scripts, and ensuring high availability and performance of mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers in physical and virtual environments
• Develop and maintain automation for routine tasks
• Monitor system performance
• Implement security hardening
• Analyze problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical environment
• Combine technical knowledge and communication skills to turn metrics into information

Skills

• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining physical and virtual Linux servers, such as RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu
• Experience developing and maintaining scripts in Bash or Python to automate repetitive tasks, backups, and deployments
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree
• RHCSA, RHCE, or CompTIA Linux+ Certification
• Experience with tools, such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and VPNs
• Knowledge of implementing security measures, such as SELinux, firewalls, patching, and hardening to protect against threats and ensure compliance
