Job Description:
The Lead Epidemiologist is a senior scientific and methodological leader within the HEOR Analytics team in the PrecisionQ – Precision Care Quantified – business unit. This role is responsible for overseeing the design, execution, and interpretation of complex observational research studies leveraging EMR, claims, pharmacy, and genomics data. The individual plays a critical role in shaping analytic strategy, ensuring methodological rigor, leading client engagements, and driving high-impact insight generation in oncology and urology.
This role contributes directly to advancing value-based care initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve outcomes and reduce costs.
- Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of protocols, statistical analysis plans (SAPs), endpoint definitions, and methodological frameworks for complex RWE studies.
- Serve as scientific lead across multi-phase studies and large-scale engagements, ensuring alignment with study objectives and scientific rigor.
- Interpret analytic results and translate findings into strategic, decision-relevant insights for clients.
- Lead client presentations and provide expert scientific consultation on study design and methodology.
- Oversee quality, consistency, and scientific integrity of all study deliverables produced by the team.
- Lead publication strategy including abstracts, posters, and manuscripts, and represent the organization at scientific conferences.
- Lead, mentor and coach epidemiologists and analysts, supporting technical development and career growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation in analytic methodologies and reusable frameworks.
- Contribute to business development through proposal input, study design consultation, and client discussions.
- Ensure methodological rigor and alignment with industry best practices (e.g., ISPOR, regulatory expectations).
- Qualifications:
- PhD in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, or related field with 10+ years of RWE/HEOR experience; OR Master’s with 15+ years of relevant experience.
- Deep expertise in oncology epidemiology and advanced real-world evidence methodologies including survival analyses and study design.
- Strong track record of publications, abstracts, and conference presentations.
- Demonstrated leadership in client-facing roles and cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience developing methodological frameworks and reusable analytic assets.
- Experience leading observational research studies end-to-end.
- Proficiency in R, SAS, or Python.
- Experience working with genomics-linked real-world data, preferred
- Preferred qualities: pro-active, collaborative, creative, energetic, and positive.
- Travel required to attend conferences (up to 10-15%).
