What You'll Do
As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our data infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with source data application teams and product owners to design, implement, and enforce analytics solutions that provide actionable insights for better business decisions
- Lead data migration and data engineering initiatives using Azure products and services, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Event Hub, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Databricks, and traditional data warehouse tools
- Own multiple aspects of the development lifecycle, including planning, cloud engineering (infrastructure, networking, security, and orchestration), data ingestion, data preparation, data modeling, testing, CI/CD pipelines, performance tuning, deployment, usage, BI, alerting, and production support
- Provide technical leadership within a collaborative team environment while also demonstrating the ability to work independently on complex projects
- Be part of a DevOps team that fully owns and supports their products end-to-end
- Implement both batch and streaming data pipelines using cutting-edge cloud technologies
- Drive improvement of coding standards, best practices, and data protection and security protocols across the organization
- Mentor team members on technical and domain skills to create multi-functional, high-performing teams

What You'll Need for Success
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Prior Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
- Three years of programming solution development using Agile, DevOps, working in a product model that includes designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications or data engineering solutions
- Three years of data analysis experience using SQL
Required Technical Skills:
A combination of Development, Deployment, and Support experience in several of the following tools/platforms is required:
- Scripting: Python, Scala, Unix, SQL
- Data Platforms: Teradata, Cassandra, MongoDB, Oracle, SQL Server, ADLS, Snowflake, Azure Data Explorer
- Azure Cloud Technologies: Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Applications, Azure Functions
- CI/CD: GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Terraform
- BI Analysis Tool Stack: Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Denodo, Grafana
- Data Warehousing: DataStage, Informatica
- Data Governance and Protection: Informatica Axon and EDC, BigID
Preferred Qualifications
- Three or more years of programming solution development using Agile, DevOps, and product model methodologies
- Three or more years of data analysis experience using SQL
- Three or more years of full-stack development experience, preferably in Azure
- Three or more years of cloud development and data lake experience (preferably Microsoft Azure) including Azure EventHub, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, ADX, ASA, Azure Databricks, Azure DevOps, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Applications, and Power BI
- Airline industry experience is a plus
Skills, Licenses, and Certifications
- Proficiency with the Azure Technology stack for data management, data ingestion, capture, processing, curation, and creating utilization layers
- Expertise in providing functional direction within Azure Native cloud services
- Azure Development Track Certification (preferred)
- Scala Certification (preferred)
