Key Responsibilities

Deliver personalized phonics instruction: Teachphonics fundamentals, including letter recognition, sound blending, decoding strategies, and phonetic rules to help young readers develop strong literacy foundations.

Provide mathematics tutoring: Guide students through foundational math concepts including number recognition, basic operations, problem-solving strategies, and mathematical reasoning appropriate for K-3rd grade levels.

Support reading comprehension: Help students develop essential reading comprehension skills, including vocabulary building, sentence structure understanding, and reading fluency.

Assist with writing development: Guide students in developing basic writing skills, including letter formation, sentence construction, and beginning paragraph organization.

Create a positive learning environment: Foster a supportive, encouraging, and engaging atmosphere that motivates students to learn andbuilds their confidence in academic abilities.

Monitor student progress: Track and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed to ensure continuous improvement and academic success.

Essential Qualifications

Education: A four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.

Teaching credentials: Teaching certification or licensure is preferred but not required. We welcome candidates who have the passion and dedication to inspire young learners.

Experience: Tutoring experience is required. However, we value diverse backgrounds and welcome recent graduates, current teachers seeking supplemental work, retired educators, and professionals from various backgrounds who are committed to student success.

Required Availability

Candidates must be able to work within the following hours:

Monday through Thursday: 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Saturdays: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Location and Commute

The position is located in Chattanooga, Tennessee (37421). Candidates must be able to reliably commute to our center or be planning to relocate before starting work. Our center is easily accessible and situated in a convenient location for families throughout the Chattanooga area.
