Position Overview

As a Dental Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will serve as the primary point of contact for our dental plan members, guiding them through their healthcare journey with empathy, expertise, and dedication. Your role is fundamental in creating meaningful connections with members while resolving their inquiries efficiently and accurately.

This position offers a comprehensive training program designed to set you up for success. You will receive 12-13 weeks of intensive training, conducted Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM EST. Following successful completion of training, your permanent work schedule will remain Monday through Friday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM EST, providing you with excellent work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

As a vital member of our dental customer service team, you will:


  • Deliver Exceptional Member Experience: Serve as the face of arenaflex by handling customer service inquiries and issues via telephone with professionalism, empathy, and compassion. Your manner and approach will directly impact our members' service experience.
  • Provide Expert Consultation: Engage, consult, and educate members based upon their unique needs, preferences, and understanding of arenaflex dental plans, tools, and resources to help guide them along a clear path to care.
  • Resolve Complex Inquiries: Address questions and resolve issues ranging from basic to complex in nature, originating from members, healthcare providers, and plan sponsors.
  • Navigate Benefits & Policies: Guide members through their plan of benefits, arenaflex policy and procedures, while maintaining comprehensive knowledge of resources to comply with all regulatory guidelines.
  • Create Emotional Connections: Understand and engage members to the fullest to champion for their best health by building trusting and caring relationships.
  • Anticipate Needs: Take accountability to fully understand members' needs by proactively anticipating customer needs and providing related information to answer unasked questions, including additional plan details, benefit information, and member self-service tools.
  • Make Financial Decisions: Utilize customer service threshold framework to make financial decisions that resolve member issues effectively and within established guidelines.
  • Ensure Compliance: Explain members' rights and responsibilities in accordance with contract terms and regulatory requirements.
  • Support Healthcare Providers: Educate providers on self-service options available through arenaflex systems and tools.
  • Advocate for Members: Take members out of the middle by resolving billing conflicts and advocating on their behalf.
  • Document Accurately: Maintain comprehensive documentation and tracking of all contacts with members, providers, and plan sponsors to ensure continuity of care and regulatory compliance.
  • Triage Effectively: Route resulting rework to appropriate staff members based on the nature and complexity of inquiries.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess:


  • Customer Service Experience: Previous customer service experience in a transaction-based environment such as a call center or retail location is strongly preferred. You should demonstrate the ability to be empathetic, compassionate, and patient-focused in all interactions.
  • Production Environment Experience: Experience working in a production-oriented environment where meeting quality and efficiency standards is essential.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Minimum educational requirement is a high school diploma or GED.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address member concerns effectively.
  • Technology Proficiency: Comfortable learning and navigating multiple computer systems and software applications.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications will strengthen your application:


  • Previous experience in healthcare or insurance customer service

  • Familiarity with dental benefit plans and terminology

  • Experience with Medicare or Medicaid member services

  • Multilingual capabilities

  • College coursework in healthcare administration, communications, or related fields

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: The typical pay range for this role is $17.00 - $31.30 per hour. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors.

Anticipated Schedule: This is a full-time position with 40 hours per week.
