This position is a vital part of our Information Technology Group within the Information Technology Division. As an IT Infrastructure Engineer at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for both traditional and cloud-based system implementations based on designs from our infrastructure architects. What You'll Do
As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you'll play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our enterprise infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide exceptional understanding of concepts related to server load balancing, WAS clustering, and other application scaling concepts that are essential for maintaining high-performance systems
- Investigate and resolve middleware issues across development, testing, and production environments, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance
- Proactively monitor local and remote data center operations and hardware, including UPSs, air conditioning, power, office security systems, and all data center processes and methods
- Encourage a climate of sharing and collaboration among the team, fostering knowledge exchange and mutual support
- Stay current with systems technology best practices and evolving technologies, maintaining area expertise and recommending improvements or changes
- Support communication and response processes by responding to clients on system issues, support, and system status, and advising and escalating on any prolonged or significant issues
- Manage and maintain Windows Active Directory, including DNS and Group Policies, ensuring secure and efficient network operations
- Provide guidance to lower-level professionals and assist when and where necessary, helping to develop the next generation of IT talent
- Participate in special projects as required, contributing your expertise to various initiatives across the organization
- Commit to a mandatory rotational schedule for off-hours support, ensuring our systems remain operational around the clock
Required Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a network or infrastructure designer or administrator
Essential Skills
- Advanced ability to design strategically for current and future business conditions, including future technology and business design changes to create flexible, scalable solutions
- In-depth knowledge of IT business operations, systems requirements, and processes
- Demonstrated expertise in the following areas:
- Server Administration - Linux (RHEL/CentOS 7/8) and Windows (2012/2016)
- Infrastructure as Code - Terraform, Python, Bash, and PowerShell
- Cloud Technologies - Design, development, and delivery of cloud-native applications (Microsoft Azure, AWS, IBM Cloud)
- DevOps - CI/CD, GitHub, Artifactory, or Jenkins
- Containerization - Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry
- Server and Application Monitoring - Dynatrace, LogDNA, and SysDig
- Ability to analyze complex issues and implement solutions and/or workarounds
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously with a keen desire to learn and grow depth of knowledge
- Ability to thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment and leverage best practices
- Demonstrated drive, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changing needs and workplaces
- Proficiency in Agile project management methodology, specifically within infrastructure areas
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will give you an edge:
- Graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or comparable experience/training
- More than 3 years of experience as a network or infrastructure designer or administrator
- Advanced certifications in cloud platforms or infrastructure technologies
- Experience in high-availability enterprise environments
