- Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group has a need for an interim regulatory attorney or regulatory professional to work in compliance for grilling and fire related consumer products for 20-25 hours/week for the next 3-4+ months.Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced interim regulatory attorney, a regulatory affairs specialist, or a regulatory professional with a scientific background, with a focus on products such as charcoal, lighter fluids, fire starters and other related grilling and fire-based products to ensure regulatory compliance across all states.Company: Client is consumer product company.Experience/ Qualifications:
- Regulatory attorney, a regulatory affairs specialist, or a regulatory professional with a scientific background
- Minimum of 7+ years regulatory experience in flammables, air pollution regulations, and experience with helping products become fully compliant in all states. (this role does NOT handle OSHA compliance)
- Experience with store audits
- Familiarity/experience with the following Acts/Regs:
- Federal Hazardous Substances Act
- Poison Prevention Packaging Act 34
- Fair Packaging and Labeling Act 35
- California Proposition 65
- Federal Trade Commission Act 36
- Extended Producer Responsibility program (nationwide)
- Regulations for Reducing Emissions from Consumer Products (nationwide – i.e. CARB requirements in California)
- Weights & Measures Compliance per state
- Any other state related mandatory registration.
- Ability to work independently – willing to jump in and do the work
- Ability to help build processes
- Attention to details, organized, smart, and kind
- Location: Remote – anywhere in U.S.Responsibilities:
- Coordination UL/CTL testing requirements to ensure products meet state and federal safety standards
- Product Testing, Certification & Technical Compliance
- State and retailer regulatory compliance
- Hazardous material, chemical disclosures and sustainability documentation
- Claims review and risk mitigation
- Collaborate with Legal, Packaging, Marketing, R&D and Sales for all compliance topics
- Develop standardized workflows for regulatory checks within NPD process
