As a HPC Asset Coordinator, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, managing logistics for materials, and conducting audits to ensure effective operations within the data center region.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all hardware and other IT assets within the data center region, including servers, networking equipment, and other hardware and materials
- Coordinate the movement of materials and ensure their safe storage and distribution within the data center and to other facilities
- Conduct ongoing audits of the asset inventory to verify accuracy and completeness and make necessary updates to the inventory records
- Keep detailed records of inventory, receipts, and audits, and provide regular reports to management
- Utilize inventory management software and other tools to maintain accurate records
- Maintain open and effective communication with various teams, including Operations, IT, Procurement, and Finance to ensure smooth workflow
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory records and take proactive measures to prevent inventory-related issues
- Be willing to travel as needed to support inventory management and audits at various data center locations (Canada only)
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Demonstrated experience maintaining accurate asset records and performing cycle counts/audits with a high level of attention to detail
- Proficiency with inventory/asset management tools and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g., filtering, pivot tables, lookups) and Microsoft Office
- Comfortable working with hardware inventory (servers, networking equipment, and related IT components) and learning basic terminology and part identification
- Strong documentation and reporting skills; able to keep organized records of receipts, transfers, audits, and discrepancies
- Clear, professional communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Operations, IT, Procurement, Finance)
- Strong problem-solving skills, including identifying root causes of inventory variances and implementing corrective/preventative actions
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, operational environment; capable of prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
- 1–3 years of experience in asset management, inventory control, logistics, procurement, warehousing, or a related operations role (data center or IT environment preferred)
