Hospice CNA - Join Our Care Team in Barnstable County!

Job Summary:

We are seeking per diem Hospice Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our care team at Hospice Services of Massachusetts in Barnstable County. As a Hospice CNA, you will provide high-quality care and support to patients in their homes, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. This is an on-the-road position that requires a reliable, insured vehicle. $22 to $24 an hour with weekly pay.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform various services for a patient as necessary to meet their personal needs and promote comfort

  • Observe patient, report observations, and document observations and care performed

  • Provide patient and family with positive communication techniques, within the realm of ethical and respectful care

  • Meet the safety needs of the patient and use equipment safely and properly

  • Take and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, as ordered

  • Provide proper care and observation of the patient's skin to prevent breakdown of tissue over bony prominences

  • Assess and report on the patient's condition and significant changes to appropriate team members

  • Assist with ambulation, exercise, and normal range of motion and transfers/positioning as directed

  • Assist with self-administered medications as allowed by state regulations, such as "reminders"

  • Offer and assist with bedpans and urinals

  • Help with light laundry needs and plan and prepare nutritious meals, including shopping, as assigned

  • Perform range-of-motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service

  • Keep the patient's living area clean and orderly

Requirements:

  • Must hold an active and unencumbered CNA license in Massachusetts

  • Prior experience in hospice or home health preferred
