Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of families navigating the complexities of special needs care? Do you thrive in environments where empathy, problem-solving, and advocacy come together to create real change? If so, arenaflex invites you to build your career with us as a Healthcare Customer Advisor specializing in special needs support.
At arenaflex, we're not just transforming the healthcare industry—we're redefining what it means to deliver compassionate, accessible, and equitable care to every family, regardless of their unique circumstances. Our mission centers on simplifying the healthcare experience, removing barriers to quality care, and ensuring that no family feels alone when facing complex medical, financial, or administrative challenges. As a Healthcare Customer Advisor on our Family Engagement team, you will become that essential ally for families who need it most.
Why This Role Matters
Families caring for children or family members with special needs often face overwhelming challenges—navigating complex benefits, managing claims and billing issues, understanding prior authorizations, and advocating for the care their loved ones deserve. As a Healthcare Customer Advisor at arenaflex, you will be the steady voice on the other end of the line, providing holistic support that empowers families to navigate these complexities with confidence.
This is not your typical customer service role. You'll be empowered to act as a dedicated point of contact, owning end-to-end resolution for families in their most vulnerable moments. Your work will directly impact the lives of millions, helping to build a healthcare system that is more responsive, affordable, and equitable. This is more than a job—it's an opportunity to be part of something transformative.
What You'll Do
As a Special Needs Family Advocate within our Family Engagement Center, you will play a pivotal role in delivering extraordinary experiences to families who need an ally. Your responsibilities will include:
- Holistic Family Support: Provide comprehensive support to members who have special needs themselves or are caring for children or family members with special needs. You'll own the entire resolution process, ensuring every family's concerns are addressed with care and precision.
- Ongoing Relationship Building: Serve as a consistent, trusted point of contact for families—primarily through phone interactions, but also via email, chat, and text—delivering compassionate support that creates memorable, positive experiences.
- Independent Problem-Solving: Make decisions autonomously and solve problems creatively using sound judgment and critical thinking. You'll navigate ambiguity while finding innovative solutions to unique family challenges.
- Commitment Follow-Through: Consistently follow through on commitments and set realistic expectations for families, building trust through reliability and transparency.
- Effective Time Management: Plan, prioritize, organize, and complete work to meet established objectives while managing project timelines to ensure follow-up and outreach are completed promptly.
- Proactive Outreach: Initiate contact with members referred by executives and partners, demonstrating initiative in connecting families with the resources they need.
- Documentation Excellence: Maintain accurate family counts and detailed records on our documentation platform, ensuring continuity of care and data integrity.
- Team Collaboration: Foster a strong team environment through mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and being a resource for colleagues. Your collaborative spirit will strengthen the entire team.
- Referral Coordination: Determine appropriate referrals to other programs and services, leveraging both technology tools and external resources to add unexpected value for families.
- Quality Assurance: Deliver high-quality member experiences reflected in post-contact surveys and feedback, continuously striving for excellence in every interaction.
Work Schedule & Flexibility
This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) operating Monday through Friday, from 9:45 AM to 6:15 PM CST, within our Family Engagement Center. We understand that life happens, so occasional overtime may be required based on business needs. Most importantly, you'll have the flexibility to telecommute from anywhere within the United States, allowing you to work in an environment where you're most productive.
Training & Development
We invest in your success. You'll enjoy 18 weeks of comprehensive paid training to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in this role. During training, your hours will be 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CST, with a gradual ramp-up to the standard schedule (9:45 AM - 6:15 PM CST) during the final four weeks of training. This structured approach ensures you're fully prepared to support the families who depend on you.
