Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Fractional Controller / Finance Lead 1-2 days per week to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and strategic finance initiatives for our US-based operation. This role combines hands-on controller responsibilities with forward-looking financial leadership, supporting executive decision-making and company growth.

The ideal candidate brings deep accounting expertise, experience managing international finance operations, and the ability to implement scalable processes across a distributed team.

This position is designed for a senior professional who can deliver controller-level discipline and finance leadership without a full-time commitment for a small, but growing company. ISL Analytics Inc. has a team of 3 full-time employees in the US and 30 full-time employees in the Philippines. Position is fully remote, with great flexibility in working hours!

Key Responsibilities:

    Financial Management & Reporting
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across entities
  • Prepare and review financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and accuracy of consolidated reporting
  • Develop executive reporting packages and financial dashboards
  • Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights
    Accounting Operations & Team Oversight
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations (AP, AR, payroll, general ledger)
  • Directly supervise and support the Accounting/Finance Manager in the Philippines office, ensuring alignment, quality, and timeliness
  • Establish and enforce internal controls and accounting policies
  • Review reconciliations, journal entries, and close deliverables
  • Improve close timelines and accounting workflows
    International Accounting & Transfer Pricing
  • Oversee accounting across U.S. and international entities
  • Ensure proper intercompany accounting, eliminations, and consolidations
  • Support and maintain transfer pricing policies and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with international tax and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with external advisors on cross-border accounting and tax matters
    Strategic Finance & Business Partnering
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Provide insights on financial performance, margins, and cost optimization
  • Partner with leadership on pricing strategy and project profitability
  • Support financial planning tied to growth, hiring, and investments
  • Act as a finance business partner to operational and delivery teams
    Systems & Process Improvement
  • Evaluate and optimize accounting and financial systems
  • Implement scalable processes to support company growth
  • Improve integration between accounting, project, and analytics systems
  • Drive automation and efficiency across finance workflows
    Compliance, Audit & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with tax, audit, and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and stakeholders
  • Maintain documentation for audit readiness
  • Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced setting.
    Qualifications
  • Relevant certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) are highly desirable.
  • 10–15+ years in accounting/finance, including Controller or Finance Lead experience
  • Experience with international operations and intercompany accounting required
  • Familiarity with transfer pricing frameworks and cross-border accounting practices preferred
  • Experience in software, professional services, or analytics-driven organizations strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Experience with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, Deltek Vision)
  • Proven ability to manage remote or international teams
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
  • Strong communication skills with executive stakeholders
