Position Overview
As the Principal DevOps Engineer for our Data Platform at arenaflex, you will serve as a Technical Lead and Individual Contributor responsible for driving organizational transformation in DevOps tooling, practices, and culture. You will be instrumental in defining enterprise-wide requirements and ensuring the adoption of DevOps principles across our technology landscape, with a focus on observability, scalability, availability, security, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead DevOps Strategy Development: Define and execute comprehensive DevOps strategies covering the design, development, and implementation of tools, practices, and cultural transformations that enhance our software delivery lifecycle.
- Establish Best Practices: Lay the foundation for and enforce DevOps best practices across the organization, including version control standards, code review processes, automated testing frameworks, and deployment strategies that ensure consistency and reliability.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design and manage infrastructure using IaC principles and tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies to provision, configure, and maintain resources across multi-cloud environments efficiently.
- CI/CD Pipeline Management: Implement and oversee continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or equivalent platforms to ensure rapid and reliable application delivery while maintaining high quality standards.
- Security and Compliance Collaboration: Work closely with security and compliance teams to ensure that development and operations teams adhere to industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and internal security policies throughout the software delivery process.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor, analyze, and optimize DevOps pipelines and processes, identifying areas for improvement, innovation, and automation to enhance release consistency, reduce failure rates, and improve time-to-market.
- Technology Research and Adoption: Stay current with emerging data technologies, industry trends, and best practices. Evaluate and recommend new tools, frameworks, and methodologies for adoption within the organization's DevOps ecosystem.
- Team Mentorship and Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and professional growth within the engineering organization.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with product managers, software engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet both technical and business objectives.
- Incident Response and Resolution: Participate in on-call rotations and lead the response to critical incidents, ensuring rapid restoration of services and implementation of preventive measures.
Essential Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- Cloud Platform Expertise: Demonstrated experience working with public cloud environments, with preferred expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, or Amazon Web Services (AWS). Strong familiarity with cloud-native services, architecture patterns, and best practices.
- Containerization Technologies: Hands-on experience with containerization platforms such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes for deploying and managing containerized applications at scale.
- Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency in infrastructure as code concepts and tools, specifically Terraform and Ansible, for automating resource provisioning, configuration management, and infrastructure deployment.

- Version Control Systems: Strong working knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git, including branching strategies, merge conflict resolution, and repository management.
