You'll work on challenging technical problems involving distributed systems, low-latency networking, and large-scale ML training pipelines.
This is a senior-level position that offers significant leadership opportunities, including the chance to mentor junior engineers, establish technical direction, and influence the architecture of our cloud platform. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams across research, product development, and customer success to deliver world-class HPC and ML solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Stack Development for HPC and ML Infrastructure: Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-performance software solutions for HPC and ML workloads on arenaflex Cloud Platform (GCP), including kernel optimization, userspace communication libraries (such as MPI library, libfabric, and NCCL), and client HPC and ML applications.
- Technical Architecture and Design: Lead the design and architecture of scalable, distributed systems that can handle massive computational workloads with optimal performance and reliability.
- System Optimization: Conduct performance analysis, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to maximize system efficiency and reduce latency for compute-intensive applications.
- Team Leadership: Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and direction to a team of engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, researchers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, translate technical concepts into actionable plans, and deliver solutions that meet business objectives.
- Innovation and Research: Stay current with emerging technologies in HPC, ML, distributed computing, and cloud infrastructure. Evaluate new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to continuously improve our platform.
- Code Quality and Best Practices: Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and review processes to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and secure codebases.
- Performance Tuning: Optimize Linux kernel parameters, network stacks, and system configurations to achieve optimal performance for HPC and ML workloads.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create comprehensive technical documentation, design specifications, and knowledge base articles to facilitate knowledge transfer and team alignment.
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience demonstrating strong technical proficiency.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with demonstrated expertise in data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Deployment and Testing Experience: At least 5 years of experience testing, deploying, and maintaining production software systems, with 3 years of experience in software architecture and design.
- Distributed Systems Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale distributed systems, cloud platforms, or networking infrastructure.
- Programming Proficiency: Strong coding skills in one or more programming languages such as C++, Python, Go, or Java, with the ability to write efficient, performant code.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical problems, develop innovative solutions, and debug issues in production environments.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Education: Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is highly desirable.
- Low-Level Systems Experience: Hands-on experience with C++, device drivers, Linux Kernel development, and Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) technologies.
