The Role: Salesforce Application Developer Lead

This position contributes to arenaflex's success by delivering and supporting complex technology solutions while driving significant transformation for Channel Development, US Licensed Stores, and our Global Licensed Stores. As a Salesforce engineer at arenaflex, you will identify, design, and deploy technology and process solutions that establish key business capabilities, enabling the realization of strategic initiatives and operational improvements across our global Salesforce ecosystem.

Your expertise will span products such as Sales Cloud, B2B Commerce, Experience Cloud, and others. This role requires proficiency in requirements analysis and solution design, combined with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse technical and business teams throughout the organization to maximize the benefits of the Salesforce platform—always with a focus on elevating the customer and partner experience.

In addition to delivering excellently architected Salesforce solutions, this role requires leadership through a strong customer service orientation and a continuous improvement mindset to elevate both partner (employee) and customer experience. The ability to lead, influence, negotiate, drive solutions, and mentor less experienced developers is essential to success in this role. Key Responsibilities

Technical Design and Implementation

• Project Initiation Support: Contribute to project commencement efforts by helping define project scope and identifying the target solution architecture. Assist project management in planning, estimating, scheduling, prioritization, and resource allocation exercises.


• Solution Design Process: Participate actively in the solution design process, including requirements gathering and backlog refinement. Contribute to functional design while leading technical design and development efforts.


• Risk Mitigation: Mitigate risk through prototypes and proof-of-concepts for complex issues as appropriate. Build iteratively with an eye toward the ultimate vision of the end solution.


• Transparency and Communication: Provide transparency in approach and progress while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.


• Programming Solutions: Develop programming solutions for business problems using established design patterns and coding standards. Build solutions that are secure, robust, flexible, scalable, and accessible while proactively mitigating against production support issues.


• Agile Delivery: Utilize agile delivery methodologies and participate in scrum teams in the execution of solution delivery projects.


• Documentation: Create and maintain documentation supporting training, system configuration, deployment, and operational processes and procedures.


• Technical Expertise: Demonstrate system capability and use subject matter expertise to perform root cause analysis and assess issue trends. Facilitate issue resolution with vendors and/or cross-functional teams. Provide timely and thorough communication regarding status/resolution with end-users and other key stakeholders.


• User Experience Focus: Consider overall user technology experience when thoughtfully designing and engaging solutions.

Platform Stewardship

• Strategic Platform Guidance: Proactively participate in helping shape candidate solutions on the platform. This consultative aspect of the role explores the business capability portfolio to guide and influence solution decisions to ensure the health of the platform.


• Innovation Leadership: Take an innovative role in the Platform Stewardship portfolio. Contribute to the vision, roadmap, and platform investments required to take our business solutions to the next level.


• Opportunity Identification: Identify, influence, sell, and prioritize innovative platform opportunities as well as technical debt with regular reviews, creating projects and solutions to raise the level of the platform offering or remediate foundational operational issues.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Accomplish with cross-functional teams such as Infrastructure, Security, Engineering, QA, and key Development teams to strengthen and elevate the platform from a technology perspective.


• Enterprise Governance: Effectively drive plans and solutions through enterprise cycles and governance to ensure seamless, secure, and compliant solutions.


• Vendor Relationships: Develop vendor relationships to understand and influence vendor product offerings and roadmaps, improve support engagement, and gain insight into technology trends.


• Community Contribution: Contribute to the platform development community by sharing knowledge, content, and feedback on design patterns, coding standards, and shared libraries.

Leadership

• Project Leadership: Provide project leadership; initiate, coordinate, and support small to medium development efforts for a team of developers across a shared codebase.


• Team Management: Manage delivery of multiple engineers in the team by establishing standards and setting expectations.


• Cross-Functional Representation: Represent the Development Team when engaged with cross-functional teams, including functional experts, Project Management, Development, Engineering, Infrastructure, and the business client.


• Negotiation and Influence: Coordinate work with and influence others to achieve solutions and mutually beneficial outcomes in complex and ambiguous situations. Articulate technical approach and design to project teams and related subordinate teams.


• Mentorship: Mentor and guide other application engineers in acquiring new skills and technologies.


• Bold Leadership: Demonstrate leadership and courage with thoughtful, articulate situations to influence critical technology solutions.


• Drive and Delivery: Manage the pace and deliver in a fast-paced service environment, driving all issues to resolution with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, partner management, on-time delivery, and successful project execution.

Essential Qualifications

• Four or more years of relevant IT experience


• Three or more years of experience in Salesforce B2B Commerce


• Four or more years of experience and understanding of the Salesforce Platform and architecture, data models, business out-of-the-box features, and capabilities


• Three or more years of experience in an Agile and DevOps environment


• Strong knowledge of Salesforce B2B Commerce features and Salesforce Experience Cloud


• Experience implementing large-scale enterprise business solutions focused on Salesforce Commerce solutions


• Experience integrating Salesforce with various business systems as well as working with integration tools (ETL, NiFi, MuleSoft, etc.)


• Development experience in Salesforce Lightning Web Components (LWC)

Preferred Qualifications

• Salesforce certifications (Administrator, Developer, or Architect)


• Experience with API development and REST/SOAP web services


• Knowledge of version control systems (Git, Bitbucket)


• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools


• Experience in retail, e-commerce, or franchise business models


• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities


• Excellent communication and presentation skills


• Experience leading remote or distributed teams

Compensation and Benefits
