As a Safety Analyst at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in processing safety reports, analyzing complex datasets, investigating incidents, and contributing to the continuous enhancement of our Safety Management System (SMS). About the Role: Safety Analyst

The Safety Analyst position is a vital function within arenaflex's Safety department. This role is responsible for supporting various team members in the Safety division through processing reports, collecting data, generating reports, following up on corrective actions, investigating activities, and participating in special initiatives as assigned. The Safety Analyst will assist management in the development and implementation of SMS data collection systems and other techniques that optimize processes and structures used to determine compliance with regulatory and internal requirements, as well as standard industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

As a Safety Analyst at arenaflex, you will be entrusted with a wide range of responsibilities that are essential to maintaining our safety standards. Your daily activities will include:


  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert for Safety Programs, providing guidance and expertise to colleagues across the organization.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Safety Department Managers to address safety activities, coordinate investigations, and implement improvement initiatives.

  • Report Processing and Analysis: Review, process, analyze, and investigate all reports received through the safety reporting system, including Operational/Irregularity reports, ASAP (Aviation Safety Action Program) reports, and Fatigue reports.

  • Data Analysis and Trend Identification: Analyze technical data from hazards, events, and occurrences to identify, interpret, and communicate trends or patterns in complex datasets. Your analytical insights will directly inform safety improvements.

  • Safety Auditing: Act as a safety auditor for the Internal Evaluation Program (IEP), Safety Investigations, and elevated hazard regions of operations.

  • Program Data Management: Track, analyze, and interpret data outputs from the Company's safety programs to ensure effectiveness and compliance.

  • Database Management: Assist in the management of company databases for the purpose of improved airline safety tracking and reporting.

  • Investigation Support: Provide comprehensive assistance to the Safety Team in conducting thorough and objective investigations.

  • Technical Consultation: Offer technical knowledge to Management concerning data models, database design development, and data mining techniques.

  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare relevant reports and effectively communicate safety-related information to managers and line employees in support of the Safety Management System (SMS).

  • SMS Development: Assist in the development, implementation, and ongoing control of the Company's Safety Management System.

  • FOQA Program Participation: Act as a member of the Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) Monitoring Team, oversee aircraft data collection (alongside Technical Operations), perform FOQA data analysis, and identify trends.

  • FOQA Database Administration: Maintain the FOQA Database and ensure organization compliance with the FOQA guide.

  • Risk Assessment Enhancement: Assist in the continuous improvement of the risk identification and protection hazard assessment schemes of the Company.

  • Research and Reporting: Prepare research studies regarding aviation safety trends and present findings to leadership.

  • Additional Duties: Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by management to support the team's mission and objectives.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess a strong foundation in aviation safety principles and demonstrate exceptional analytical capabilities. The ideal candidate will have:


  • Aviation Safety Program Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of Aviation Safety programs including ASAP, FOQA, LOSA (Line Operational Safety Audit), FRMP (Fatigue Risk Management Program), IEP (Internal Evaluation Program), and VDRP (Voluntary Disclosure Reporting Program).

  • Operational Familiarity: Hands-on experience and familiarity with Flight Operations, Dispatch, Inflight Services, and Maintenance operations.

  • Aircraft Systems Knowledge: Understanding of aircraft systems, minimum equipment lists, aircraft dispatch procedures, and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).

  • Safety Management Systems: In-depth knowledge of Safety Management System requirements, hazard management, safety assurance, safety reporting, and safety promotion principles.

  • Human Factors Training: Basic knowledge of Crew Resource Management (CRM) concepts and aviation human factors.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of products, with advanced capabilities in Excel for data analysis.

  • Communication Excellence: Exceptional writing skills, including report writing, document creation, and correspondence with regulatory agencies such as the FAA. Excellent verbal, presentation, and educational skills to effectively communicate safety information to diverse audiences.

  • Analytical Capabilities: Strong technical and data analysis skills with the ability to perform statistical analysis and audits. Must be comfortable working with large datasets and drawing actionable insights.

Preferred Skills and Experience

While the following qualifications are not required, they would be highly advantageous for candidates seeking to excel in this role:


  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Aviation Safety, Aerospace Engineering, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field.

  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in airline operations, preferably in a safety-related role.

  • Professional Certifications: FAA aircraft dispatcher certificate, pilot certificate, and/or A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) certificate.

  • Advanced Technical Skills: Experience with database management systems, data visualization tools, and statistical software packages.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) Badge.
