Our Quality Engineering team plays a critical role in ensuring that every product and solution that leaves our facilities meets the highest standards of excellence. We're currently seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our team in New York and help us maintain our reputation for delivering exceptional quality products to our customers worldwide.

Position Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for executing comprehensive QA activities for design exercises and providing QC support for creation and production. You will work closely with our engineering, quality, manufacturing, and production teams to ensure that every product meets or exceeds customer expectations and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities


As a Quality Engineer at arenaflex, you will be tasked with a diverse range of responsibilities that are essential to maintaining our quality standards. Your primary duties will include:


  • Supporting Engineering and Quality Teams: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support quality initiatives and ensure alignment between design, development, and production processes.

  • Planning and Executing Testing Activities: Develop comprehensive testing strategies and execute quality verification activities for both new product development and existing product improvements.

  • Creating Detailed Test Plans: Develop thorough test plans covering all phases of product testing, from initial concept validation through final production release.

  • Developing Test Methodologies: Create robust test methodologies, experiments, and evaluation criteria to ensure comprehensive quality assessment.

  • Participating in Design Reviews: Engage actively in Bill of Plan evaluations, Customer Testing Specifications (CTS), Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R), Correlation Test Reports (CTR), and other critical design review processes.

  • Analyzing Test Results: Provide detailed analysis from conducted tests and maintain historical data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.

  • Technical Documentation: Create, maintain, and improve technical documentation, formats, and quality records to ensure compliance and facilitate knowledge transfer.

  • Test Development Scheduling: Develop test advancement timelines and comprehensive test execution plans that align with project milestones and production schedules.

  • Failure Analysis: Research test failures through rigorous data analysis and assess field failure risks to prevent quality issues from reaching customers.

  • Warranty Claims Support: Support warranty claims analysis and resolution using internal data and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement.

  • Risk Assessment: Identify and assess potential risks in design and production processes that could impact customer quality and product reliability.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong working relationships with engineering teams, quality departments, manufacturing, and production to ensure quality is integrated throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Capacity Studies and Gage R&R: Perform capacity studies and conduct Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R) studies to ensure measurement system accuracy.

  • Root Cause Analysis: Apply root cause analysis techniques and develop quality documentation to address identified issues effectively.

  • Product Development Support: Provide QA support during product development and R&D phases, as well as QC support during manufacturing and production.

  • Quality Process Knowledge: Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and other quality approval processes.

  • Client Requirements Implementation: Audit and ensure execution of client requirements, Statements of Work (SOR), and technical specifications throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Pre-Production Coordination: Coordinate engineering and pre-production builds to ensure smooth transitions from development to full-scale manufacturing.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:


  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field. Equivalent practical experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of experience in QA/QC, validation, testing, or product development roles within a manufacturing or technology-focused environment.

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of quality management systems, testing methodologies, and product development processes.

  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis, statistical methods, and root cause analysis techniques.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear technical documentation and present findings to diverse audiences.

  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications


While not required, the following qualifications will be considered a significant asset:


  • Experience with PPAP, APQP, and other automotive or manufacturing quality standards

  • Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, and other failure analysis methodologies

  • Familiarity with Gage R&R studies and measurement system analysis

  • Experience in design verification and validation testing

  • Understanding of Six Sigma principles or Lean manufacturing concepts

  • Certification in quality management (e.g., CQE, CQA, or similar)

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments
