About the Role: Pharmacy Technician – Patient Care Specialist

What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Technician at arenaflex, you'll play a vital role in supporting our pharmacy operations and ensuring exceptional patient care. Here's what you can expect:
Patient Interaction and Customer Service
- Welcome and engage customers with warm greetings and proactive assistance
- Provide exceptional service that exceeds customer expectations

Pharmacy Operations
- Under the supervision of our licensed pharmacists, assist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state, federal, and company policies
- Utilize our advanced pharmacy systems to accurately enter patient and drug information
- Process prescriptions efficiently, retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical tablets
- Verify medication accuracy and check for potential drug interactions
- Assist pharmacists in maintaining smooth workflow and scheduling
- Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty
- Strictly adhere to all company policies regarding good faith dispensing
Financial and Administrative Tasks
- Register all related income on assigned cash registers with precision
- Collect and handle cash and payments as required
- Guide customers to over-the-counter aisles to assist with product location
- Handle telephone calls that don't require pharmacist attention, including physician communications
- Process and resubmit third-party prescription claims efficiently
- Perform various clerical duties as assigned by the pharmacy manager
Inventory Management
- Support pharmacy department inventory management activities
- Order, unpack, check, and store prescription drug shipments
- Maintain awareness of company asset protection procedures
- Document claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods
Clinical Support Services
- Assist pharmacists in administering clinical services as required
- Support collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients
- Assist pharmacy team in coordinating medical services
- Support coordination with arenaflex healthcare clinics and external vendors
- Help develop and maintain relationships with local medical communities
Store Operations and Professional Development
- Assist with indoor and outdoor maintenance to ensure pharmacy department is stocked, clean, and orderly
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Maintain respectful and collaborative relationships with teammates
- Complete special assignments and other responsibilities as assigned
What We're Looking For: Qualifications and Skills
Basic Requirements
- Language Proficiency: Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
- Legal Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Background Check: Must pass background verification as required by state law
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred Qualifications
- Retail Experience: Six months or more of experience in a retail environment is highly preferred
- Industry Knowledge: Previous work experience in pharmacy or healthcare settings
- Mathematical Skills: Strong math abilities to accurately fill prescriptions, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with computer systems and technology
- Inventory Management: Knowledge of store inventory control procedures
- Certification: PTCB certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring)

Upon completion of the arenaflex pharmacy technician apprenticeship program, you'll qualify for 8 (eight) college credit hours as recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE). This course is recommended for 3 semester hours at the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category and 5 semester hours in the upper-division baccalaureate degree category – a total of 8 semester hours that can further your educational journey.
