Position Overview

We are currently seeking a motivated Remote Healthcare Data Entry Specialist to perform information entry, patient enrollment, and high-volume customer service tasks. In this position, you will work under direct supervision, following established protocols and company policies to ensure accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service delivery. This is a full-time opportunity offering competitive pay between $27-$35 per hour, with comprehensive training provided to set you up for success.

Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Healthcare Data Entry Specialist at arenaflex, your primary responsibilities will include:


  • Patient Enrollment Processing: Utilizing arenaflex prescription data entry techniques and guidelines, process new patient enrollments by accurately entering information into the appropriate healthcare management systems while maintaining strict HIPAA compliance.
  • Prescription Management: Handle patient medication requests within HIPAA regulations, entering refill orders for timely processing. Investigate and obtain missing prescription information as needed.
  • Medical Terminology Interpretation: Interpret clinical abbreviations and SIG codes to ensure accurate prescription processing and data entry. Resolve all data entry exceptions and discrepancies efficiently.
  • Customer Communication: Handle multi-channel correspondence with patients, including inbound calls, live chats, and emails. Make outbound calls to prescribers and patients as necessary to resolve inquiries and ensure continuity of care.
  • Exception Resolution: Resolve third-party rejections by examining claims, collecting necessary information, making corrections, and resubmitting for processing according to specific policy requirements. Communicate with insurers and other parties to obtain override approvals or resolve complex issues.
  • Pharmacy Support: Provide assistance to pharmacists, both those in the office and those in other locations. Identify and communicate issues to senior-level staff as appropriate.
  • Compliance Requirements: Must obtain an active professional license or certification within the first 90 days of employment and maintain an active license or certification thereafter, in accordance with state requirements.
  • Policy Adherence: Maintain adherence to company working protocols and perform duties according to arenaflex policies and procedures. Adapt to responsibilities that may vary based on assigned division.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following essential requirements:


  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Computer Skills: Basic level computer proficiency including the ability to start up and shut down computers, use mouse navigation, start and close programs, switch between applications, save documents, print reports, and access information online.
  • Web Navigation: Basic web browser skills including opening a browser, typing URLs correctly, using search engines, bookmarking websites, navigating back/forward/stop buttons, and completing online forms.
  • Keyboard Skills: Intermediate-level keyboarding abilities with a minimum typing speed of 25 WPM, ability to type from memory, and basic document formatting skills.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.
  • Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Work Environment: Must have a dedicated, quiet home office space with reliable high-speed internet connection and appropriate equipment to perform remote work duties effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment.
  • 18 months or more of pharmacy technician experience with current certification/registration granted by the state Board of Pharmacy or a nationally recognized certification organization.
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer care to both internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for service delivery and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Intermediate to advanced keyboarding skills with a minimum typing speed of 35 WPM, typing from memory, and advanced document formatting capabilities.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
  • Previous experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and pharmacy management software.
  • Familiarity with insurance verification processes and claims processing procedures.
