  • *Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Record Retriever and Data Entry Clerk to assist our Medical Abstraction team with retrieval of medical records and data entry for Hedius review. This is a remote position that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. As a Medical Record Retriever and Data Entry Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of medical records, and contributing to the success of our Medical Abstraction team.

  • *Responsibilities**

As a Medical Record Retriever and Data Entry Clerk, your responsibilities will include:

  • Under the direct supervision of the Critical Incident Management RN Supervisor, you will be responsible for Critical Incident Reporting (CIR) data entry activities.
  • You will obtain, organize, and analyze data, and report utilizing data mining tools and software systems in collaboration with other team members.
  • You will perform intake and data entry utilizing multiple screens and navigating multiple platforms.
  • You will verify the accuracy of data entered into the Critical Incident Reporting Portal, correct inaccuracies, and update the portal appropriately.
  • You will collaborate with the CIR team in routine meetings to identify issues, trends, best practices, and process improvement activities.
  • You will communicate and correspond verbally and in writing both internally and externally.
  • You will perform other duties as assigned.
  • *Requirements**

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • High school diploma plus one to three years of office/business experience; call center experience preferred and/or currently demonstrating customer service skills, meeting current department metric and attendance guidelines within department.
  • Experience in data entry required
  • Experience in medical records required
  • Written communication skills as well as business writing and presentation skills are required.
  • Requires strong organizational skills, ability to create, sort and analyze reports (Excel, Access, etc) and system processes.
  • Experience in retrieval of specific information in a medical record.
  • Requires ability to understand and use basic medical terminology.
  • Demonstrated ability to sustain quality standards.
  • Must be able to prove ability to type 30 wpm with 90% accuracy.

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs)
  • Experience with data mining tools and software systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
