We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Field Services Specialist to support our T-64 propulsion systems at our MALS-16 MCAS Miramar location in San Diego, California. Position Overview


We are looking for an experienced Lead Field Services Specialist who will provide leadership, technical direction, and comprehensive support to our customers, users, and internal field personnel. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of our advanced T-64 propulsion systems. You will serve as the primary technical liaison between arenaflex and our military customer, ensuring exceptional service delivery, proactive problem resolution, and long-term relationship building.

The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in turbine engine systems, strong leadership capabilities, and exceptional communication skills. You will be responsible for providing on-site assessment of activities, anticipating problems and trends, and maintaining a thorough understanding of the customer environment. Key Responsibilities


As a Lead Field Services Specialist at arenaflex, you will be entrusted with comprehensive responsibilities that span technical support, customer relationship management, and team leadership. Your daily activities will include:


  • Technical Guidance and Training: Provide expert on-site guidance and training to customer personnel in the proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of T-64 engines and associated ground support equipment. This includes the effective use and interpretation of technical data, maintenance manuals, and diagnostic instructions.
  • Comprehensive Reporting: Maintain complete and accurate reporting of all engine-related activities, customer problems, failures, trends, and customer climate. Ensure timely communication to internal stakeholders regarding program status, technical issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Maintenance Scheduling Support: Assist the customer in scheduling maintenance activities and managing workload to ensure that all assets are available to meet operational schedules and mission requirements.
  • Engine Malfunction Analysis: Review, analyze, and report on all reported engine malfunctions. Develop recommendations for corrective actions and preventive measures to ensure continuous reduction of disruptions for our customers.
  • Maintenance Recommendation Development: Analyze maintenance requirements and make recommendations to ensure full alignment with customer operational requirements, regulatory standards, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Training Needs Assessment: Review the effectiveness of maintenance actions and identify training gaps or needs to enhance customer capabilities and technician proficiency.
  • Program Change Management: Maintain active awareness of all program and project changes, ensuring that customer support activities remain aligned with current specifications and requirements.
  • Customer Training and Insight: Provide customer insight and training as necessary to ensure effective future product line support and to build long-term customer self-sufficiency.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize advanced data and analytics tools to influence positive outcomes for customers, identify trends, and develop proactive support strategies.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with all levels of customer personnel, from technicians to senior leadership, to ensure comprehensive and responsive support of our product lines.
  • Process Improvement: Support military field service process improvements as required, contributing to operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Cross-Functional Liaison: Function as a vital liaison between arenaflex internal organizations and the customer, facilitating seamless communication and coordination.
  • Strategic Planning: Lead and participate in complex discussions with internal and external divisions regarding future potential needs, product developments, and consequences related to engines, modules, and component parts.
  • Long-Term Process Management: Engage in complex long-term processes with customers and internal departments, managing expectations and delivering sustainable solutions.
  • Executive Presentation: Present solutions for technical and logistical issues to senior leadership, drawing upon expertise, trending diagnostics data, and collaborative input from various stakeholders.
  • Travel Requirements: Demonstrate ability and willingness to travel as required to support customer needs, training activities, and program requirements.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, OR a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in an aviation field service, engineering, or maintenance position
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on field maintenance, modification, and repair experience on the T-64 engine or similar propulsion system products
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
